The Pan African Sanctuary Alliance is the largest coalition of wildlife centers and sanctuaries across Africa. With a network of 23 member organizations in 13 African countries, PASA serves as a united coalition fighting to protect and save great apes and monkeys from the brink of extinction.
Position Overview
PASA seeks a part-time (20-25 hours per week) Partnership Associate to support fundraising efforts from prospect research through to administrative coordination. This role will assist with PASA’s day-to-day efforts to identify, engage, and retain foundation, corporate, and individual donors as we continue to grow our partnerships and individual giving programs.
We are a nonprofit organization working to protect and care for Africa’s primates and their habitats. The work of the Partner Associate directly supports the resources needed to advance PASA’s mission and the work of our member sanctuaries. This includes supporting donor engagement, partnership development, and fundraising efforts connected to PASA’s programs, communications, and occasional events.
Location
U.S. based, ideally in the EST time zone or able to work those hours. Occasional domestic travel may be required to attend conferences or fundraising events.
Duties
- Support the Development team in expanding PASA’s partnerships and individual giving programs.
- Assist with researching, identifying, and conducting outreach with prospective foundation, trust, and corporate partners.
- Assist with conducting regular outreach and communication with ongoing partners under the guidance of senior Development staff.
- Keep detailed and accurate records using CRMs databases.
- Track and analyze metrics, identify trends, and share findings to support decision-making.
- Explore opportunities for ambassadors and brand partners who align with PASA’s mission and values.
- Assist with creating tailored and impactful content for PASA’s outreach to partners.
- Occasional domestic travel as required for conferences and fundraising events
Skills/Attributes
- Outgoing, confident, and respectful in outreach to prospective and current partners and donors.
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated with good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
Experience (essential)
- At least one year of prior experience in a fundraising or development or nonprofit operations role.
- Experience researching, identifying, and contacting prospective donors and partners, including foundations, trusts, or corporate funders.
- Experience using CRM or similar databases.
Experience (desirable)
- Experience of administrative work within an NGO setting
- Knowledge of conservation/welfare issues for African wildlife
- Experience working in Kindful and MailChimp
