    After School Activities Partnerships (ASAP) is a 501©3 nonprofit dedicated to building confidence, community, and college/career readiness in Philadelphia youth through afterschool programs in Chess, Speech & Debate, Drama, and Scrabble

    About the Role

    The ASAP Drama Club Site Director oversees daily operations of our school-based ASAP Drama program at Laura Carnell Elementary School in Philadelphia (1100 Devereaux Ave). As the site’s leader, you will provide oversight and support to the programming, site-level OST staff, administration, and school partnerships to ensure a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for youth.

    This role requires a dynamic leader with strong organizational skills, emotional intelligence, and a passion for youth development. Site Directors uphold our leadership values: Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Diversity & Inclusion (CARED).

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Management

      • Ensure that site-level staff implement daily lessen plans with fidelity during school year after school programming (October through early June) and a two week summer camp program (July)
      • Ensure compliance with City and School District youth program requirements
      • Manage site logistics
      • Supervise academic, enrichment, and project-based learning activities to ensure quality
      • Communicate regularly with caregivers about student progress and behavior
      • Communicate regularly with school leadership about student attendance, recruitment efforts, program highlights and upcoming events
      • Provide classroom support to teaching artists as needed, re: monitoring students in the hallway during transitions, supporting individual students with emotional regulation needs, redirecting student behavior, etc.

    Staff Supervision & Leadership

      • Supervise site staff in collaboration with ASAP Drama Team
      • Conduct daily program check-in meetings before each program day begins
      • Ensure youth are actively supervised at all times
      • Model trauma-informed leadership practices and foster a supportive team culture

    Administration & Compliance

      • Managing student sign in and out procedures
      • Maintain accurate student attendance and enrollment
      • Submit timely and accurate student attendance reports to ASAP leadership for invoicing and grant compliance
      • Organize and distribute program supplies to site level staff, and manage inventory of supplies

    Community Partnerships

      • Build strong relationships with principals, teachers, and OST partners at Carnell
      • Collaborate with school leadership to coordinate program logistics as well as resolve any conflicts or challenges that may arise
      • Serve as liaison between ASAP, families, schools, and other stakeholders

    Qualifications

    Required:

      • Associate’s degree or higher in education, child development, human services, or related field
      • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth
      • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
      • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
      • Cultural competence and adaptability to diverse communities
      • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Drive, Meet, Classroom)

    Preferred:

      • Experience working in schools and with grant-funded programs
      • Knowledge of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports)
      • Bilingual (Spanish/English)

    Schedule & Compensation

      • Part-time, on-site role, Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-6:00pm, with some additional in-person or virtual hours for staff training and school-based collaboration meetings with school leadership
      • October through early June, when schools are in session, with Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring break holidays off, plus a two week summer camp in July
      • Hourly rate of $40/hour
