ABOUT EVERGREEN SOCIAL IMPACT AND SUPPORTING PARTNERSHIPS IN EDUCATION AND BEYOND

Founded in 2021, Evergreen Social Impact is a nonprofit fiscal sponsor organization that provides fiduciary services, including governance, funds management, and other administrative services to projects with social-impact missions. We can act as long-term administrative home for tax-exempt and public/private partnership entities, or as a ‘nonprofit incubator’ for new charitable projects that are in start-up mode. By providing an administrative and operations hub for our sponsored projects, we give them the freedom to focus on their missions. We are a small but mighty team that values flexibility, dependability, a can-do approach to our work, respect for ourselves and others, and a healthy work-life balance.

Evergreen Social Impact is the fiscal sponsor for Supporting Partnerships in Education and Beyond (SPEB). SPEB was founded by a group of Somali mothers coming together to advocate on behalf of their and other immigrant families in the education system. SPEB supports communities of color by advocating for change in their schools, districts, Washington State, and nationwide. SPEB serves immigrant families and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in King, Pierce, and Thurston Counties.

    POSITION SUMMARY

The SPEB Project Director provides oversight and leadership for SPEB programs, including program design/development, implementation, and evaluation. The Project Director works closely with the Board of Directors on determining strategic direction and development, including securing adequate resources to support SPEB programs. The Project Director serves as the face and voice of the Project, and as such is responsible for community outreach and for developing and nurturing strategic partnerships in pursuance of SPEB strategic goals and objectives. The Project Director reports to the SPEB Board Chair, with a dotted-line reporting line to the ESI Executive Director, and supervises the part-time Deputy Project Director.

SPEB is undergoing a period of transition. We are seeking a Project Director with strong community connections, the ability to build and repair relationships and partnerships with community, stakeholders, volunteers, and funders, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse constituency.

This is a regular, full-time (36 hours per week) staff position with benefits.

This is a remote position. Washington State residence is required.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Program Management

    • Partner with and support the Board of Directors on strategic planning and organizational development.
    • Provide strategic leadership, management and guidance to SPEB’s strategic initiatives and impact efforts through partnerships, coalitions, community engagement, and donor engagement.
    • Oversee the creation and management of programs that support SPEB’s mission and goals.
    • Oversee the coordination, integration, and delivery of programs and related activities, promoting collaborative relationships between program areas and ensuring that the expectations of clients, partners, funders, and other stakeholders are consistently met.
    • Develop and foster a high-performance, inclusive, and accountability culture throughout program teams, aligned with core values and organization commitments to equity and inclusion.
    • Work with program directors and teams to establish approaches and methods for evaluating program outcomes and leverage internal and/or external resources to inform program results.
    • Stay abreast of developments in the external environment of the community(ies) served by SPEB’s programs as well as of developments in the nonprofit sector.
    • Cultivate relationships and establish partnerships among SPEB program areas, encouraging knowledge sharing, resource utilization, and collaborative problem-solving.
    • Collaborate with the Deputy Program Director and the Fiscal Sponsor to determine staffing requirements to achieve program goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with the Deputy Project Director and the Fiscal Sponsor to develop program policies, procedures, and protocols.

    External Partnerships

    • Develop and foster productive, strategic relationships with allied organizations and community partners; act as the focal point for day-to-day relationship management.
    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Deputy Project Director on developing and seeking resources and funding in support of program activities.
    • Serve as the primary relationship liaison with key funders, including foundations, government agencies, and individual donors; lead donor acquisition and stewardship.
    • Identify public and private grant opportunities; develop grant and contract proposals.
    • Represent SPEB on relevant committees and task forces, as well as at speaking engagements, conference panels and trainings.
    • Build and nurture strategic partnerships to leverage resources, expertise, and networks for programmatic success.
    • Build relationships and ensure positive interactions with regional, state, and local government officials, and other key influencers and stakeholders.
    • Plan and lead SPEB advocacy and community outreach activities.
    • Proactively and regularly communicate to and with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and partners.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with, and/or commitment to racial equity, social justice, and cultural humility.
    • At least seven years of experience in community activism/engagement or social and human services, which include at least four years in a role with progressive leadership responsibilities where the emphasis has included organizational operations.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS
