    Descrição

    Job Description

    Position Summary

Living Future is seeking a Director of Events to lead the production, and execution of Living Future’s conferences and special convenings, both in person and virtual, including our premier Living Future Conference. This leadership role is responsible for producing mission-aligned, high-impact experiences that drive revenue, deepen engagement, and reinforce our position as a global convener for regenerative design.

This role requires strong management, leadership, and coordination skills, with the ability to work skillfully across departments—especially MarCom, Fundraising, and Community Engagement—to ensure cohesive execution and brand consistency.

A key measure of success is delivering a seamless, inclusive, and values-driven attendee experience. The Director will own the run-of-show, proactively solve issues related to wayfinding, check-in, AV, and event logistics, and ensure every touchpoint reflects our mission and commitment to excellence.

The Director of Events plays a critical role in advancing Living Future’s movement-building work by crafting transformational experiences that inspire bold action. If you're a strategic thinker, collaborative leader, and passionate about building a just and regenerative future, we invite you to apply.

    Strategy, Leadership & Collaboration

    • Develop and lead the operational plan and strategy for Living Future’s signature events, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, audience needs, and brand voice.
    • Own P&L for the Events team, including hiring support contractors, revenue forecasting, budgeting, and expense management.
    • Set annual event goals and KPIs in partnership with MarCom, Community, and Fundraising teams.

    Event Experience Design (Non-Programming)

    • Partner with lead for programming to align logistics and production with content plan, including mainstage, summits, and breakout sessions.
    • Design and oversee the attendee experience from registration through post-event engagement considering accessibility, inclusivity, CSAT, and NPS.
    • Lead the design and execution of non-session experiences including meals, networking, wellness program, inclusivity program, arts and culture program, and the Living Future Lounge.
    • Implement sustainable event practices and reflect Living Future values in event operations and attendee experience to the maximum extent possible.

    Production & Logistics

    • Lead event operations from concept through execution—securing venues, vendors, AV, digital platforms, room blocks, and contracts.
    • Create and manage run-of-show, production schedules, event staffing plans, and contingency protocols (including health and safety).
    • Ensure all event deliverables meet high standards of sustainability, accessibility, and inclusivity.

    Marketing, Sponsorship, & Revenue Support

    • Partner with MarCom to drive attendee acquisition, pricing strategies, event promotion, and sponsorship visibility.
    • Collaborate with leadership and staff to support sponsorship fulfillment
    • Source and manage city-specific collaborations to enhance the attendee experience.
    • Coordinate logistics for sponsored tours and field trips.

    Team Management

    • Supervise contractors, and key vendors; provide mentorship and accountability
    • Develop and manage project plans and serve as project manager, ensuring timely communication and cross-department collaboration.

    Qualifications

We know that you may not have all the skills listed below and we encourage you to apply if you meet the majority of the requirements.

    • 10+ years of experience leading complex multi-day events, ideally within nonprofit, sustainability, or mission-driven sectors.
    • Proven success producing large-scale convenings (1,000+ attendees), both in-person and virtual.
    • CMP, CMM, or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Deep understanding of event budgeting, negotiation, contracts, and logistics.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills; ability to inspire and collaborate cross-functionally.
    • Experience working with digital event platforms (e.g., Cvent, Shopify), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and project management tools (e.g., Asana).
    • A commitment to sustainability, equity, and Living Future’s mission.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    Bonus Skills

    • Familiarity with regenerative design, decarbonization, and equity-centered climate solutions.
    • Background in media production, broadcast, or live event tech.
    • Creative eye for stage design, attendee engagement, or experiential storytelling.
