We are seeking a lay minister with a passion for building vibrant Christian community among middle and high schoolers, young adults, and their parents.
The ideal candidate feels called to grow and shape programming, engage parishioners in opportunities for participation and leadership, and cultivate a sense of belonging across generations. This person will be a visible, relational presence in the life of the parish and in the Summit community, with an intention to make a home here for at least 3–4 years.
Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to connect effectively across in-person, digital, and social media platforms.
Calvary is a program-sized Episcopal parish experiencing notable growth in both size and vitality. We are an inclusive congregation in Summit, a vibrant NYC suburb known for its excellent schools, walkable downtown, and direct train access to Manhattan. The community is largely professional and family-oriented, with an appreciation for strong institutions and meaningful civic life.
At Calvary, we are committed to joyful worship, lifelong faith formation, and an engaged, relational community. Rooted in the Anglican tradition and inspired by Benedictine spirituality, we emphasize children, youth, and families as essential to the present and future of the Church. We strive to offer engaging, age-appropriate formation that nurtures spiritual growth, service, and a deep sense of belonging in the Body of Christ.
Calvary Episcopal Church is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to cultivating a staff team that reflects the breadth of God’s people. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including benefits appropriate to the role.
This role requires evening and weekend hours. A collaborative and congenial staff and congregation make it a joy.
English required.
Communication skills -- in person and in the digital realm -- are of utmost importance.
We are open to the Holy Spirit in discerning the right candidate for this role. If you have a heart for youth and families, suburban ministry, and nurturing joyful Christian community, we invite you to apply. Please contact the Rev. Chris Veillon, Associate Rector, with 1) a letter of introduction about yourself and what about the role ignites your spiritual imagination and 2) your resume, CV, or OTM profile.
