We are seeking a dedicated, bilingual (English/Spanish) Social Worker or Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our innovative school-based program, which establishes satellite clinics within schools to provide accessible and comprehensive mental health services. The ideal candidate will be an experienced professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to serving diverse communities. This position requires someone with a strong background in counseling, experience communicating with families across cultures, and familiarity with documentation practices, including medical billing systems. The role involves a mix of school-based and clinic-based responsibilities, requiring flexibility in location and scheduling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer individual and family therapy to students in school settings.
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans based on student needs.
- Communicate effectively with families, using culturally responsive approaches and act as a liaison between families and school staff to ensure support.
- Work with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to address students’ mental health and emotional needs.
- Participate in team meetings to coordinate services and ensure holistic student care.
- Ensure seamless coordination of care between school and clinic settings.
- Maintain accurate case notes, treatment plans, and progress reports and submit medical billing and ensure compliance with coding procedures.
- Primarily work in school settings, with remote services during school breaks and holidays.
- Be flexible in shifting between school and clinic locations based on program needs.
Engage in ongoing weekly training and supervision to stay current with clinical best practices.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- LMSW/ LCSW, LMHC or LP-MHC
- Spanish Speaking Required
- Experience working with children and families
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of professionals and community partners
- Strong advocate for the children and families in our program
