    About Uprooted Academy

Uprooted Academy is a tech non-profit that offers an AI-powered, student-centered platform that ensures under-resourced students can navigate the college application process with confidence, resilience, and well-being. Our holistic, data-driven approach connects students to the resources, mentorship, and social capital needed to pursue their dreams and close the wealth gap.

    About the Role

Uprooted Academy is hiring a Manager, Partner Success & Engagement to help our California school partners and virtual national partners thrive. This role is ideal for someone who brings experience in education and/or student advising and a love for relationship-building, systems, and day-to-day support. You’ll manage a portfolio of school-based and organization partners and serve as the key connector between our platform and the school counselors and advisors implementing it. From onboarding and training to platform engagement and light outreach, you’ll help ensure every partner feels supported, inspired, and equipped to use Uprooted Academy to its fullest potential. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role for someone passionate about equity, education, and execution.

    Core Responsibilities

Partner Success & Implementation: Be the trusted connector who keeps school partners supported, engaged, and activated.

    • Conduct regular check-ins with school liaisons, counselors, and advisors
    • Monitor platform usage data (logins, milestones, AI engagement) and flag support needs
    • Provide real-time coaching and outreach to under-engaged partners
    • Attend school-based events and pop-ups to increase visibility and platform usage
    • Organize opportunities for partners to share insights and celebrate success
    • Collaborate with our research team to support the Community of Practice for advisors

Onboarding & Training: Ensure every partner gets off to a strong, confident start.

    • Lead onboarding sessions tailored by stakeholder type (CCR leads, counselors, administrators)
    • Manage training and follow-up schedules, including office hours and support key touchpoints
    • Keep orientation materials updated and aligned with evolving partner needs
    • Lead monthly professional trainings for school teams and coordinate guest speakers when appropriate

CCR Strategy & Platform Activation: Help partners connect platform tools to postsecondary outcomes.

    • Serve as a college and career readiness (CCR) thought partner for school teams
    • Identify key student campaign moments (e.g., FAFSA, college apps) and help align platform engagement
    • Coordinate guest sessions with career professionals and admissions counselors
    • Share timely policy updates (FAFSA, application deadlines) via the Counselor Hub

Platform Support & Feature Integration: Ensure new features are rolled out smoothly and meaningfully.

    • Support tribe messaging and student engagement campaigns
    • Help input new content into the AI tool and counselor/student platform areas
    • Provide real-time feedback from the field on feature usage, friction points, and successes
    • Help gather specialized content or updates for specific student populations

Light Outreach & Future Growth: Support early-stage outreach and represent Uprooted Academy externally.

    • Begin building relationships with regional youth-serving organizations and CBOs
    • Represent Uprooted at conferences, events, and school-based gatherings
    • Support tabling, lead engagement, and follow up with potential partners and leads

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of experience in education, edtech, nonprofit leadership, or college access
    • Experience in partnership management or business development (especially in education or mission-aligned tech)
    • Familiarity with college and career readiness goals and systems (e.g., FAFSA, college apps)
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders
    • Comfort with using data to drive insights, implementation outcomes, and storytelling
    • Willingness to travel for conferences, partner events, and relationship-building (especially in SoCal)

    Perks

    • Generous PTO – Enjoy two weeks off in the winter and one week off is summer, plus additional paid time off.
    • Comprehensive Benefits

    • 401(k) with 3% employer match
    • Annual Team Retreat – A fully planned retreat to recharge, strategize, and build community.
    • And More! – We’re always adding benefits that support our team’s well-being and growth.
