Position Details and Responsibilities:
Day Eight’s Education Program Assistant is a part-time staff position supporting delivery of Day Eight’s education programs 15-20 hours per week and paid at a rate of $20-$24/hr. The individual will function as a core member of the education team supporting Day Eight’s out of school time education programs
75% of position time – Out of School Time and In-School Education Programs
- The incumbent will support delivery of Day Eight’s K2 After School programs, including organizing lesson plans, ensuring supplies are on site, tracking student participation/attendance, and ensuring funder compliance. The incumbent will support management of Day Eight’s after school programs, including ensuring that teachers have what they need on site and that lesson plans are appropriate and understood. The position will interface with school staff and Day Eight’s program director/executive director to support consistent program delivery.
- The incumbent will also provide support to our poets-in-the-schools program, assisting with scheduling, tracking of poet/educator work for payment, and school evaluation.
- The incumbent will engage with members of Day Eight’s education team, including the programs director, service providers, and volunteers, including by coordinating and participating in education committee meetings, and organizing program evaluation as required by the funder.
25% of position time – Additional Projects
- The incumbent will support Day Eight’s capacity in other areas, including administration of poetry and journalism programs, fundraising and marketing initiatives, and new programs.
The position will work a set weekly schedule of hours including occasional night and weekend work for events and as a member of the Day Eight team.
Day Eight is currently still working via remote.
Payment will be made every two weeks by direct deposit. No benefits are provided for this position.
Position Qualifications:
- Demonstrated capacity as an arts administrator
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience taking responsibility for work products individually and as a member of a team
- Demonstrated interest in the arts, arts administration, or education.
