Met Council is America’s largest Jewish charity dedicated to serving the needy. We fight poverty through comprehensive social services and by treating each client with compassion, integrity, and respect. Our programs are staffed by experts who help over 325,000 clients each year and advocate on behalf of all needy New Yorkers. Our services include 100% affordable housing at 21 locations, family violence services, Holocaust survivor assistance, geriatric social work, crisis intervention and the largest free kosher food distribution program in the world. Our network of 120 food pantries, affordable housing sites, and JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City.

    Position Summary:

The Brooklyn Hub, a joint initiative of Met Council and UJA-Federation of New York, is a 13,000-square-foot community resource center located at the crossroads of Borough Park and Bensonhurst in Brooklyn. The Hub serves as a central access point for comprehensive social services—including case management, crisis intervention, family violence prevention and response, career development, and emergency kosher food distribution—delivered under one roof to meet the evolving needs of the community.

The Managing Director will provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight for the Brooklyn Hub, driving program development, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. This role is responsible for setting and executing the Hub’s strategic directions; ensuring high-performing daily operations; and strengthening systems, staffing, and performance management to maximize impact and ensure continuity of best-in-class services.

The Managing Director will lead and mentor Hub staff while fostering cross-departmental collaboration within Met Council to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and advance mission-critical initiatives. The Managing Director will collaborate on program design and expansion, align messaging and fundraising, and develop and report to key stakeholders and funders on performance metrics, demonstrating impact and ensuring accountability. As the key ambassador for the Brooklyn Hub, the Managing Director will articulate and advance the Hub’s vision—engaging and inspiring donors and partners to connect with the work—while cultivating strong relationships with community leaders, elected officials, philanthropic partners, and UJA-Federation network agencies as well as community-based organizations, to expand reach and deepen impact.

Additionally, the Managing Director will provide high-level administrative and operational oversight, ensuring compliance with all programmatic, regulatory, and grant requirements. Through data-driven decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement, the Managing Director will reinforce the Brooklyn Hub’s role as a vital, trusted resource for individuals and families across the community.
