Program Coordinator - Communications

PRIMARY PURPOSE/NATURE OF WORK

Big Sunday connects people through helping. We provide a wide variety of opportunities and projects that bring people together to improve lives, build community and give people a sense of belonging.

The idea is that absolutely everyone has some way that they can help somebody else. In these divisive times we like to celebrate our differences while finding common ground.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Plan a wide variety of communications including: emails, social media, website, promotional materials, letters and other communications. Anything involving writing, you could be called on to do!
2. At Big Sunday, everyone wears many hats. You will also be asked to:
   1. Help facilitate ongoing and one-time events involving anywhere from a few people to hundreds or thousands of people
   2. Assist with other events and programs, including our Corporate Days of Service in the greater Los Angeles area and possibly other cities, too.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. A good sense of humor.
2. Good writing skills.
3. Familiarity with websites.
4. Familiarity with and enjoyment of social media.
5. Web experience.
6. Graphic design ability a plus.
7. Able to see the big picture, make a plan and follow through.
8. Well organized.
9. Dependable.
10. Able and happy to take responsibility.
11. Able to delegate.
12. Imaginative.
13. Able to understand the spirit of Big Sunday programming and allow it to thrive and grow.
14. Being a kind and compassionate person.
15. Good computer skills are mandatory.
16. Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds in all kinds of environments

25. There is occasionally some heavy lifting involved.
26. You will need to work the occasional evening, and at least one weekend day or evening per month, sometimes two.

This job calls on all kinds of skills – creative, practical, and interpersonal. Our work environment is casual, but we get a lot done with a small but devoted staff. This is a great job for a passionate person who enjoys people, is willing to jump in with both feet, and who wants to make a difference.

Our offices are in Hollywood. Our usual schedule is M-Th, 9-5 and F ,9-1.

You won't make a ton a money - but you also can't be replaced by AI.
