We’re a supportive, tight-knit group that values trust, empathy, and collaboration—and we enjoy coming together (especially over a good meal!).
In this role, you’ll be a trusted resource for staff, helping employees navigate healthcare, benefits, leave, accommodations, and other wellbeing needs. You’ll also look beyond individual needs to identify emerging wellbeing risks, gaps, and opportunities and help develop resources, programs, and support that make a meaningful difference. Description
The Wellbeing Navigator advances ASHA’s commitment to a healthy and supportive employee experience by helping staff navigate health, wellbeing, benefits, leave, and workplace accommodation needs and by helping ASHA understand and address organizational factors that influence employee wellbeing. The position uses employee insights and data to identify needs, risks, and opportunities and inform a strategic, holistic approach to employee wellbeing and the overall employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Health and Wellbeing: Help employees understand and navigate healthcare and benefit resources and facilitate workplace accommodation requests, connecting employees and managers with appropriate information, resources, and effective workplace solutions.
- Leave and Disability Support: Guide employees through leave and disability processes, including explaining available benefits, coordinating required information and documentation, and helping employees understand what to expect throughout the process.
- Organizational Wellbeing: Identify and address organizational factors that influence employee wellbeing and the employee experience by recognizing emerging needs, risks, gaps, and opportunities and recommending resources, programs, or changes to people practices.
- Wellbeing Insights and Programs: Leverage employee feedback, available data, and other insights to develop, coordinate, and evaluate a strategic and holistic approach to wellbeing, including resources, education, programs, and initiatives that support physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
- Employee Experience and Connection: Translate employee needs and insights into recommendations that strengthen HR policies, processes, programs, and the staff experience, and support initiatives, including employee resource groups and other opportunities for connection and learning, that contribute to a welcoming, supportive, and engaged workplace.
- Contribute HR expertise and judgment to broader people practices and initiatives, including opportunities to improve HR operations, policies, processes, and the staff experience.
Qualifications
Knowledge and skills typically acquired through:
- 3 or more years of relevant experience in employee wellbeing, benefits, leave administration, accommodations, healthcare navigation, human resources, or a related area.
- Education or training in human resources, public health, health education, nursing, benefits administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification or credential related to health education, wellness coaching, nursing, benefits, or a related discipline may be helpful.
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of employee health and welfare benefits, healthcare navigation, leave, disability, and workplace accommodation practices.
- Demonstrated ability to identify organizational factors and emerging issues that influence employee wellbeing and the employee experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize employee feedback, program information, and other available data to identify needs and inform practical recommendations, programs, and improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and evaluate wellbeing programs and resources that respond to employee and organizational needs.
- Demonstrated ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately, assess individual needs, and help employees navigate sensitive decisions and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative, handle sensitive information with discretion, manage multiple priorities, and recognize when issues require escalation or additional expertise.
