    ABOUT THE MICHAEL J. DIAS FOUNDATION

    Founded in 2012, the Michael J. Dias Foundation honors the memory of Michael J. Dias by supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use disorders. Through education, sober-living homes, and community outreach, the Foundation is dedicated to fostering drug-free communities. Its mission is rooted in honesty, accountability, compassion, and altruism. The Foundation has grown to operate multiple sober homes, including Michael’s House, Sean’s Place, and Christian and Brian’s House, and aims to expand its impact with additional sober-living communities and long-term financial sustainability.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    An integral part of the Foundation, the Executive Director serves as the staff leader of the Foundation, responsible for daily operations, strategic execution, and community representation. This leader works collaboratively with the Board of Directors, reporting to the President, to advance the mission, uphold organizational values, and ensure operational success. As the Foundation moves into the next phase of growth in their continued commitment to supporting men, women, and their families who are impacted by substance use disorders, the Executive Director will require exceptional communication and relationship skills to engage with current and new constituents, donors, and partners.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    OPERATIONAL PRIORITIES

    Sober Housing Operations

    • Provide administrative oversight of daily operations for sober homes, ensuring adherence to Massachusetts Association of Sober Housing (MASH) certification requirements.
    • Oversight of the Director of Operations to ensure the approved sober housing operating models are being adhered to that include a safe recovery-focused environment, providing residents with guidance, enforcing house policies/procedures, and ensuring that all facilities are properly maintained.
    • In collaboration with the Director of Operations, establish new or manage existing partnerships with local recovery networks, law enforcement, and other sober-living facilities.

    Recovery Support Initiatives

    • Stay informed on emerging trends, best practices, and legislative changes in substance use disorder recovery.
    • Working in collaboration with the Director of Operations, establish/manage connections with organizations offering recovery support services, including counseling, employment assistance, and peer mentorship. Determine where partnerships with other organizations could enhance funding opportunities and provide enhanced resident recovery outcomes.

    Community and Legislative Advocacy

    • Represent the Foundation in community forums and legislative discussions to advocate for recovery resources and sober housing initiatives.
    • Build relationships with government agencies, securing grants and other funding specific to substance use disorder recovery.

    CORE ADMINISTRATIVE PRIORITIES

    Strategic Leadership & Board Collaboration

    • Serve as the primary liaison between staff and the Board, providing timely updates, reports, and recommendations.
    • Execute the strategic plan and advise the Board on evolving trends in substance use disorder recovery.
    • Attend all Board meetings and ensure effective communication on operational and financial matters.

    Financial Management

    • Develop annual budget and 5-year financial projections in collaboration with the Board’s Finance Committee.
    • Oversee fiscal health, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and maximizing resource utilization.
    • Lead fundraising initiatives and planning in adherence to annual development plan and in collaboration with Director of Development.

    Community Engagement & Marketing

    • Serve as the primary spokesperson, building awareness of the organization’s mission and services.
    • Oversee communication strategies, including social media, newsletters, and event promotions, to engage the recovery community and its supporters.

    Grant Management & Fundraising

    • Oversee grant research, applications, and compliance.
    • Collaborate with fundraising committees to execute successful events and campaigns.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform other duties as assigned by the Board.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Administration, Non-Profit Management Administration or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered;
    • Proven leadership in non-profit management, financial oversight, strategic planning, and use of associated office/business software. Ability to lead the organization into our next chapter of growth.
    • Strong communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills. Ability to create new relationships and expand existing or create new revenue opportunities.
    • Experience in the substance use recovery area or sober housing management would be helpful, but willing to consider candidates with other strong non-profit leadership experience.
    • Candidate may be a person in recovery yourself, have ties to the cause, or simply a passion to make a difference in this space. The key is to be empathetic and be able to speak the language of the community.
    • A valid Massachusetts Driver’s license and a reliable vehicle is needed. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

    WORKIG CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Work Environment – This is a hybrid position with duties performed at least 3 days per week in an office environment in our sober homes with the ability to work remote the other 2 days. Position will require working with the public involving attendance at various events, outside meetings, etc. Position requires a flexible schedule and occasionally, requires working on a weekend or evening.

    Physical Requirements - Required to walk, stand, sit, talk, observe and hear; operate office equipment requiring eye-hand coordination. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to communicate in writing and verbally.

    Benefícios

    This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $75,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to paid time off (vacation, sick, and holidays), we offer a healthcare stipend and a 3% match on SIMPLE IRA contributions, upon eligibility.
