POSITION PROFILE
Institute for Exceptional Care (IEC, www.ie-care.org) is a non-profit organization committed to making healthcare better and safer for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) so they can live their best, dignified lives. IEC places people with IDD at the center of all our work, building partnerships with IDD advocates and healthcare leaders to prepare clinicians, to change how healthcare organizations serve people with IDD, and help insurers and government use their influence to improve the health of people with IDD.
POSITION SUMMARY
IEC is seeking a highly qualified Director of Development or Chief Advancement Officer to manage and implement a strategic vision for our comprehensive fundraising program in partnership with our CEO, COO/CFO, Communications Manager, and Board of Directors. This is a critical leadership role that will allow you to bring your expertise and creativity and help drive organizational growth and impact across the United States.
As the Director or Chief Advancement Officer, you will be responsible for maturing a fund development program, creating annual development plans, and deepening alliances with institutional funders and high-net-worth individuals to ensure the financial sustainability of IEC. We are looking for a high-energy, innovative, and accomplished professional who can bring the gravitas and strategy necessary to drive our fundraising efforts.
In addition to leading our fundraising efforts, you will work closely with our leadership team and staff, to identify new opportunities for growth and impact, build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, and promote our work and mission to multiple audiences.

COVID-19 VACCINE POLICY
IEC’s COVID-19 Vaccine Policy requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees must provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.
LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This role may require up to 10% of business travel, including conferences, training, donor and prospectus funder meetings, and organizational retreats. IEC is currently a fully virtual organization but has occasional in-person staff meetings in Washington D.C. and compensates for travel and lodging costs.
While the position is virtual, all team members are expected to be available for meetings beginning at 10am EST during work days.
HIRING RANGE
The hiring range for this role is $150,000-$175,000. Final offers for this position will be based upon several factors, including the scope of the role, market compensation analysis, position requirements, candidate’s experience level and capabilities, specific candidate geographic location, and internal pay equity considerations within the parameters of IEC’s compensation framework and philosophy.
