Brooklyn Children’s Museum, the world’s first museum for children, is currently seeking
motivated Group Leaders for our Summer Camp Program at PS 189 in Brooklyn.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Supervising a group of 20 children ranging from K-5.
- Creating fun activities and classroom games designed to nurture team building, cohesiveness, and mutual respect within your group.
- Assisting Lead Educators in the implementation of curriculum.
- Maintaining behavioral expectations for your group in accordance with the program’s established policies and systems.
- Serving as a mentor and leader to Summer Youth workers and interns.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of experience working with children ages 5 – 12 in a childcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, and engage with diverse young audiences with patience and creativity.
GENERAL SCHEDULE:
Part time;
11:30am-6pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am-6pm on Fridays for Summer
2pm-6pm Monday through Friday with additional time for trainings and routine staff meetings
during the school year.
Note: 5-day a week availability required
