    In 1957, The Medical Foundation (TMF) was created to primarily fund biomedical research in Massachusetts. Since then, we’ve been on a journey of evolution.     Position Description

    The Hunger to Health Collaboratory (H2HC) uplifts innovative, systemic solutions to food and nutrition challenges that advance health equity. H2HC does this by collaborating with and convening cross-sector thought leaders and advancing knowledge, all through a focus on the social drivers of health. The operations manager reports to the H2HC executive director and works, as a member of a small team, to design and execute strategic and programmatic work to further H2HC’s growth and programmatic goals. H2HC is currently fiscally sponsored by Health Resources in Action (HRiA).

    The operations associate supports the administrative, logistical, communications, and programmatic operations of the Collaboratory as directed by the executive director and works within HRiA’s structure, policies, and procedures.

    The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $65,000.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Administration

    • Provide excellent administrative and logistical support for varied work, projects, and events in collaboration with H2HC team as well as internal and external partners.
    • Participate in meetings with internal and external senior leaders as needed, providing detailed notes and follow-up action items.
    • Support and help manage complex projects from start to finish.
    • Manage calendars, meeting schedules, contact lists, and H2HC files.
    • Research and compile information on individuals, corporations, and foundations from various sources in preparation for strategic and prospective partner meetings.
    • Generate contact reports and meeting notes.
    • Follow up on action items and with meeting participants as needed and requested.
    • Research, develop, and manage payment process for new vendor contracts as needed.
    • Manage monthly expense reporting in Certify, including speaker expenses, H2HC internal transactions, etc.
    • Research, identify, and share strategic information sources and opportunities for H2HC participation, including grant opportunities, webinars, and conferences.
    • Support other tasks as needed.
    • Identify and master useful new digital tools as needed.

    Communications

    • In collaboration with H2HC team, manage communications as needed with external stakeholder groups including the Leadership Council, national Prize Committee, prize winners, Strategic Advisors, event speakers, external stakeholders, etc.
    • Support the design, development, copy editing, and proofreading of H2HC materials, including reports, presentations, newsletter, slide decks, social media posts, website pages, charts, and images as needed.
    • Support printing and production of communications and branded materials as needed.

    Events

    • Support event design, planning, coordination, and execution of various in-person and virtual H2HC events with internal and external stakeholders (both in Boston and other locations).
    • Research, visit, and recommend event sites.
    • Support planning and management of event logistics.
    • Help manage vendor relationships from beginning to end.
    • Prepare meeting materials, including agendas, scripts, slide decks, runs of show, biographies, etc.
    • Serve as H2HC professional ambassador at meetings and events as required.

    Candidate Qualifications

    • 2 years of professional experience, ideally in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
    • Strong work ethic and commitment to working through complex projects to successful outcome
    • Ability to synthesize, organize, and manage complex information/projects with tight deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
    • Ability to work effectively with a variety of organizations, internal colleagues, and external stakeholders, including senior leaders
    • Ability to work consistently and effectively both in person and remotely as part of a small team
    • Strong analytic, oral, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
    • Demonstrated curiosity, resilience, flexibility, and ability to tolerate ambiguity
    • Strong computer skills, facility with social media, design tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Constant Contact and a willingness to learn new tools as needed
    • Interest in and desire to learn about food and nutrition issues through the lens of advancing health equity
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)

    Physical Demands

    • Ability to work in an office environment
    • Ability to sit for up to 3 hours at a time
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

    Work Environment

    • The job is performed indoors in a hybrid model that includes both onsite and remote work.
    • A minimum of three days per week on site at Boston office is required and is not negotiable; additional in-person meetings, events, and conferences will arise and may require travel.
    • Professional home workspace with reliable internet and space for confidential conversations is required.
