About us

We are a new AI advocacy organization launching publicly in late summer 2026. Our goal is to amplify everyday voices and build a broad-based movement capable of winning federal AI policy. We want policies that create an economy that works for everyone, not just Big AI; that defend our essential freedoms; and that prevent the development of AI systems that pose existential risks to humans and the planet.

Public anxiety about AI is rising faster than almost any other political issue, and neither party has earned voters' trust on it. For years the response to AI risk has been white papers and closed-door meetings; what's been missing is organized grassroots political power. We are building the campaigns, organizing, and political infrastructure to win the future.

Our team includes veterans of the climate movement, civil rights organizations, national labor unions, and progressive electoral campaigns. You'd be building a digital program with real resources behind it on an issue that is about to become unavoidable.

The role

The Senior Digital Manager communicates through the channels where most Americans actually encounter this fight: their email inbox, their phone screen, and their social media feed. You'll help set the strategy for our email, SMS, and social media programs, scoping out and running digital campaigns to support our legislative, organizing and mobilization strategies.

We're looking for someone senior enough to own the plan and the numbers, and hands-on enough to write the email and social copy themselves at 9 pm when news breaks. Early on this will be an execution role; as the program scales you will bring on more staff, vendors, and freelancers, and shape what the digital team becomes.

Email and SMS. Work with our digital vendor to own the calendar, write and send the program — mobilization, rapid response, storytelling, fundraising — and build the welcome series and automations that turn a new signup into an active supporter. Support the management of segmentation, deliverability, and list hygiene as we scale.

Social media and content distribution. Run our accounts day to day in a populist, plain-spoken voice: publishing, engaging, and catching moments the same day they happen. Give us a higher chance of going viral and capitalize on earned and owned media opportunities.

Campaign scoping and testing. Identify and scope prospective digital and rapid-response campaigns based on the news cycle; own planning, preparation, testing, deployment, and debriefing of campaigns.

List growth and mobilization. Design and run acquisition programs — organic, paid, petitions, partner swaps, event capture — and hit ambitious growth targets. Turn the list into action: RSVPs for events and actions, grassroots lobbying pushes, and pressure moments aimed at specific political targets, in coordination with our organizing and political teams.

Testing, analytics, and infrastructure. Own our CRM and digital tools, build reporting tools that leadership can actually use, and run a real testing program on subject lines, asks, creative, and audiences. Work with counsel and operations to keep fundraising, ad spend, and data practices properly structured across our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities.

Building the team. Set the digital budget and roadmap alongside our communications lead, select and manage vendors and freelancers, and hire and manage digital staff as the program grows.

Who you are

We are a small team of experienced organizers, campaigners, and communicators with a big vision, and are looking for dynamic, motivated collaborators who can help build the organization's core functions. We don't expect anyone to check every box. If you meet most of this and the mission grabs you, apply:

6+ years running digital programs on political campaigns, advocacy organizations, unions, or nonprofits, with senior-level ownership of email, SMS, or social channels and the results they produce.

Excellent written and verbal communications. You can turn a complicated policy fight into a 200-word email that gets opened and acted on, and you can do it in an hour when the news demands it. You can communicate and collaborate effectively with teammates and partners.

Platform fluency. Hands-on with a CRM/email platform (EveryAction, Action Network, ActionKit, Mailchimp or similar), an SMS tool, and the major social platforms — including short-form video.

Comfortable with numbers. You track open, click, conversion, and cost-per-acquisition rates, run clean tests, and change what you're doing based on what you find.

List-building track record. You've grown a list from a small base to real scale and can talk about how you did it, what it cost, and what you'd do differently.

People and project management skills. You've managed vendors, freelancers, or junior staff; you show efficient time and workload management skills and an orientation to detail

Collaborative and respectful. You work well both independently and collaboratively and have a track record of working with people across lines of difference and engaging with diverse communities.

Consistently good judgment and integrity. You can make tough calls with incomplete information, know when to speed up or slow down, and will work through challenging situations to advance our mission.

Populist orientation. We punch up at concentrated corporate power, and elevate the voices of everyday people.

Interest in AI. Deep expertise is great, but a willingness to learn is all that is required.
