    ABOUT RESETTING THE TABLE

Resetting the Table (RTT) equips leaders and communities from every corner of American life with tools and skills to counter toxic polarization and build a shared future. Through rigorous training, courageous dialogue, and perspective-changing media content, we enable Americans to transform political differences into an engine of strengthened relationship, creative problem-solving, and collective insight. Informed by combined expertise in the fields of mediation, conflict transformation, trauma therapy, and social research, RTT’s road-tested framework has brought together more than 80,000 Americans in partnership with thousands of organizations in 49 states. Our methodology for building “healthy conflict” in communities is nationally recognized and highly sought after.

It's an exciting time to join RTT’s powerhouse team. We are entrepreneurs looking to transform this flammable moment in American history into connection, collaboration, and repair. RTT’s work is challenging, but you get to collaborate with some of the most thoughtful, caring people while doing immensely meaningful and impactful work.

At RTT, we see the motivation, growth, and well-being of our team members as a critical ingredient to our success. Our mission-driven workplace culture is dedicated to excellence, authentic collegial care, and investment in the professional development of each team member.

    THE OPPORTUNITY

As RTT’s Program Assistant, you will be an essential member of our Program Management team, collaborating closely with program staff to ensure a seamless, high-quality experience for all program participants. You will assist with programs from start to finish — planning, execution, and evaluation — helping cultivate a smooth and supportive logistical/operational experience for our practitioners, program staff, and cross-department information streams. You will balance precision with flexibility. This role is a great fit for someone who can apply tremendous attention to detail to program tasks with a strategic ability to prioritize what’s most essential.

In addition to behind-the-scenes coordination, as the Program Assistant, you will routinely attend RTT training sessions and programs serving in a variety of roles that will assist participant learning, support practitioners, and immerse you in RTT’s toolkit. If you’re energized by operational excellence, love creating order from complexity, and are comfortable participating in live training sessions, this role is an opportunity to engage with RTT’s mission from the inside out.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Support Program Logistics (55%)

You will support RTT’s program team by preparing and implementing logistics for virtual programs, including producing and organizing program materials (packets, surveys, slides, etc.), coordinating with facilitators and coaches, recruiting participants and volunteers, communicating with participants, and providing tech support on Zoom. You may also be asked to support logistics for in-person programs, including space set-up, catering, materials distribution, etc.

Collect and Maintain Program Data (25%)

You will be a key contributor to the program team's data systems. You will support collection of quantitative and qualitative data, input and maintain program and constituent records in Airtable, and help further our database system-building efforts that enable our program outreach and impact storytelling.

    Assist Training Programs (20%)

You will support trainings, workshops, coaching sessions, and other programmatic activities, and will play a variety of roles to support participant learning. These include managing Zoom logistics for programs (building breakout rooms, keeping time), joining coaching sessions to be a volunteer speaker for participant skill practice, and stepping into other kinds of light-touch conversation/speaking roles as they arise.

    QUALIFICATIONS

Note to Applicants: We encourage you to apply even if you do not feel that you meet 100% of the listed qualifications. If this job excites you and aligns with your values and aspirations, we strongly encourage you to apply. We look forward to your application.

To be successful in this position, you will excel in the following areas:

    • Extraordinary Organizational and Time Management Skills: You are meticulously detail-oriented and supremely organized, with careful attention to accuracy, quality, and timeliness. This role is about keeping people and systems organized and running smoothly. You develop intuitive organizational systems that make things easier for others and have a track record with project planning and execution, including creating and managing timelines and work plans. You are able to work as part of a team and also stay motivated while working independently across time zones, with a spirit of helpfulness.
    • Mission Alignment: You have a passion for our mission to overcome toxic polarization and destructive societal conflict. You believe it is crucial for more Americans to communicate constructively across differences in backgrounds and ideological views. You proactively pursue opportunities to learn from divergent perspectives and have the ability to communicate well with a variety of audiences and will be comfortable modeling and/or engaging in conversations across differences in training sessions with external participants.
    • Adaptability and Flexibility: You are able to wear different hats and manage competing priorities. You have the ability to pivot quickly as priorities shift and the team continues to grow. You have a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement, as well as removing barriers to implementation.
    • Strong Communication: You have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, with a spirit of generosity and support when working internally with other team members as well as externally with program participants and other stakeholders.

Ideal candidates for this position will also have:

    • 2+ years of demonstrated success with program logistics and operations.
    • Experience with written and verbal communication in a professional context with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
    • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and G Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.) with proficiency creating and formatting complex documents and spreadsheets.
    • Ability to utilize and adapt to various software tools and platforms to improve efficiency. Experience with Airtable and/or similar software is a plus.
    • Experience supporting programs on Zoom and using its advanced features. Comfortable troubleshooting live tech issues.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in data collection and data entry.
    • Comfortable participating in conversations across social and political differences.

At Resetting the Table, we don’t just accept differences of background, identity, or point of view — we celebrate it, support it, and thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our work, and our community. RTT is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. Applicants will not be discriminated against because of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, religion, national origin, disability, ancestry, marital status, veteran status, medical condition, or any protected category prohibited by local, state, or federal laws. All aspects of employment are decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and organizational need.
