Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP)

TCDIP is a professional association of over 70 law firms and corporate legal departments with a mission to build opportunities and community for attorneys of color and for all who seek to advance an inclusive profession. TCDIP envisions a legal community free of barriers, where all attorneys have abundant opportunities to succeed and thrive.

    Position Overview

The Community Impact Program Manager is a strategic relationship-builder and program leader responsible for designing, implementing, and growing TCDIP’s community-facing programs.

This position requires someone who can connect deeply with community partners, engage attorneys and law students, build trusting relationships with affinity bar associations, and create accessible, equity-centered programming that reflects community needs.

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and proactive leader with a strong commitment to justice and equity, and a proven ability to manage programs. The Program Manager will bring a balance of program planning, strong relationship-building skills, and an understanding of how to motivate volunteers. The candidate will be responsible for managing relationships between community organizations, law firms, and corporate legal departments. With a deep understanding of the legal needs surrounding communities of color, they will work closely with community partners to ensure resources are directed to where they are most needed.

Above all, the ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills, capable of driving both operational success and lasting impact in the pursuit of justice for underrepresented communities.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Collaborate with community partners and affinity bar associations to identify community and legal needs, ensuring programs align with core equity priorities for communities of color—including public safety, voting rights, education equity, and economic justice.
    • Build and manage relationships across community organizations, law firms, corporate legal departments, law school partners, and student groups to strengthen engagement and deepen TCDIP’s community connections.
    • Develop and maintain systems for volunteer recruitment, onboarding, support, and retention, ensuring attorneys, law students, and legal professionals can engage meaningfully and accessibly in Community Impact programs.
    • Plan and execute compelling events and programs that deepen community connection, support learning, and strengthen engagement across the legal and broader community.
    • Organizing training for legal professionals, ensuring sensitivity and understanding of issues facing communities of color when offering pro bono legal services.
    • Supervising and mentoring a team of at least two staff members, providing clear direction, setting expectations, and fostering professional growth in alignment with program goals
    • Managing annual program budgets and expenditures, ensuring compliance and alignment with organizational goals and guidelines, and optimizing resource allocation
    • Identifying and applying for grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and corporate sponsors aligned with TCDIP’s mission and goals
    • Coordinate the Community Impact Committee (CIC) and other governance bodies, preparing agendas, materials, and reports to ensure alignment, communication, and effective decision-making across stakeholders.

    Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with at least 3-5 years of experience creating and managing justice-focused projects and systems. The Community Impact Program Manager should have prior experience working within the legal industry and/or within the justice space. They should also bring an entrepreneurial and creative approach to their work.

A successful candidate will bring many of the following qualifications and personal attributes:

    • Deep commitment to TCDIP’s mission, equity, and community-centered work, with knowledge of systemic barriers impacting Black, Indigenous, and communities of color in Minnesota.
    • Experience collaborating with legal professionals, law students, affinity bars, and community-based organizations across the Twin Cities.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to turn ideas into execution, build coalitions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with volunteer recruitment, engagement, and program evaluation.
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and workflow development skills with high attention to detail.
    • Strong relationship-building, communication, and facilitation abilities.
    • Proficiency with MS Office, database systems, and comfort learning new technology.
    • A collaborative, curious, humble leader who brings humor, adaptability, and a commitment to shared success.

Not sure you meet all qualifications? Let us decide! Research shows that members of under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they often do! We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.
