    Descrição

Are you a storyteller at heart who also loves strategy? Do you enjoy turning program impact into compelling proposals that inspire support? Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is seeking a Grants Officer who thrives in a mission-driven, collaborative environment. In this role, you’ll help fund life-changing experiences for Girl Scouts across Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Reporting to the Senior Grants Officer, you’ll play a key role in securing corporate funding (primary) and foundation funding (secondary) to support general operations, program growth, and capital needs. You’ll also assist in planning and executing engagement opportunities for institutional donors and ensure grant systems, reporting, and documentation are accurate, organized, and audit-ready.

    What You’ll Do

    • Transform impact into compelling proposals: Write letters of inquiry, full grant proposals, narratives, budgets, and reports that clearly show the difference Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital makes in the community.
    • Lead full-cycle grant management: Track deadlines, manage submissions, and ensure reporting is accurate, complete, and on time.
    • Collaborate across the organization: Work with program, finance, and communications teams to gather data, stories, photos, and budgets, turning them into polished materials that funders rely on.
    • Build and maintain relationships with funders: Research prospects, support donor meetings and site visits, and create stewardship touchpoints that connect funders’ priorities to the Council’s mission.
    • Support strategic giving goals: Help develop annual grant strategies and identify opportunities aligned with funding priorities and long-term vision.
    • Keep the grants engine running smoothly: Manage the grants calendar, oversee contracts and agreements, maintain electronic funder files, and coordinate financial reporting with Finance.
    • Contribute to broader Development efforts: Assist with fundraising events, draft content for newsletters or reports, source impact stories, and proofread materials to ensure consistency and quality.

    • Proven success writing five-figure grant proposals
