POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Director of Development is a critical member of Heart of Los Angeles’ leadership team, working collaboratively with the Sr. Director of Development to develop and execute fundraising strategies for Heart of Los Angeles and to oversee a development department with a staff of seven. The Associate Director of Development will focus on donor and partner engagement strategies for meeting the organization’s core operating budget, including leading annual and major gifts programs, as well as the fundraising and stewardship events calendar. They will directly supervise the Development Associate of Giving and the Development Associate of Engagement, as well as collaborate closely with the institutional giving team. The position requires strong project management skills, exceptional strategic and systems-thinking skills, excellent coaching, mentoring, and management skills, and stellar written and verbal communication skills. The candidate should be comfortable talking to both large groups and individuals. They will be responsible for front-line fundraising with donors at various levels and will manage their own portfolio of 50-100 high-capacity prospects.
