    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Business Intelligence Engineer, reporting to and working with the Director of Technology, will support the organization's reporting and analytics needs by developing and maintaining Microsoft Power BI foundational semantic models, creating and maintaining Power BI reports, and ensuring data quality. This role will require collaboration across departments to execute an organizational data quality strategy, advise on data governance practices related to report delivery, and provide actionable insights to enhance decision-making processes.

    KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Key duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

    • Develop and maintain Microsoft Power BI foundational semantic models to support organizational reporting needs.
    • Create and maintain Microsoft Power BI reports to provide actionable insights.
    • Develop and execute an organizational data quality strategy to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.
    • Advise on data governance practices as they relate to the delivery and consumption of reports.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and standards.
    • Monitor reporting infrastructure performance and address issues to minimize downtime.
    • Create and maintain documentation for data quality, reporting governance, and Power BI models.
    • Collaborate with IT and business leaders to support decision-making processes through accurate and accessible reports and analytics.
    • Continuously drive innovation to improve reporting capabilities and operational efficiency.

    Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics or related field OR
    • Five years of experience or more in business intelligence, developer or data analytics roles.
    • Five years in Microsoft Power BI, including Power BI Desktop, Service, Fabric Pipelines, Dataflows, and foundational semantic modeling.
    • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States for Call2Recycle, with or without sponsorship.

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Strong proficiency in languages such as DAX, Power Query (M), PySpark, and SQL.
    • Experience designing and building Lakehouses, Dataflows, and Data Pipeline Orchestration on the Microsoft Fabric platform.
    • Experience with data governance frameworks and strategies.
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics CRM.
    • Proven ability to execute data quality strategies across an organization.
    • Strong knowledge of reporting infrastructure and analytics best practices.
    • Experience using AI to analyze large amounts of data to identify unseen facts or trends.
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Experience developing solutions in Microsoft Power BI, Power Platform, and Power Apps.
    • Experience implementing incremental refresh within Dataflows in the Microsoft Fabric environment.
    • Experience with data security principles and applying compliance modules like Microsoft Purview to reporting infrastructure.
    • Ability to use AI analytics tools on large amounts of structured and unstructured data.
    • Understanding of data governance standards and data quality principles.
    • Experience with enterprise reporting tools and methodologies.
    • Proven experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Familiarity with system integrations and development of custom integrations.
    • Possess a constructive attitude and a desire to be part of a fast-paced, continuously improving work environment, utilizing a high sense of urgency, patience, and flexibility.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across teams.
    • Must be highly organized, with attention to detail and commitment to clear documentation.
    • Able to analyze multiple levels of information, and to identify opportunities and apply innovative solutions.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
    • A quick learner, with the ability to efficiently learn business concepts and system integrations.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • This position is remote based within the United States or Canada. Candidates must be able to work from a U.S. or Canada based location and be eligible to work lawfully in the United States
    • or Canada for Call2Recycle.
    • Limited travel (estimated 2-4 times per year) as needed. Travel could include, but not be limited to, attending conferences, customer meetings, or team/organization-wide meetings. Call2Recycle’s corporate office is in Marietta, GA. This position does not need to be based there.
    • The work hours, Monday - Friday, are 8 hours per day. The position may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak periods. Our approach to schedules is to focus more on the quality and timeliness of the work being done.
