    Descrição

    Who We Are:

Live It Learn It (LILI) is a DC-based nonprofit that partners with schools and cultural institutions to create and deliver experiential learning opportunities for students in order to increase their self-efficacy, build on their intrinsic motivation, and support their scholarly achievements.

Each year, we serve 2,100+ 3rd-5th grade students in Title I (high-poverty) DC public schools.

LILI is an inclusive environment where staff are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work every day.

    Job Summary:

The Manager of the Partner School Support Program plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, curriculum-connected experiential learning opportunities to DC public school students. The Program Manager for Partner School Support leads the strategy, operations, and execution of Live It Learn It’s flagship programming model. This model includes two core offerings: LILI Field Experience Days, which are schoolwide, curriculum-aligned field trip days, and Flagship Programs, which are immersive three-part learning experiences led by trained educators and volunteers. This role ensures that partner schools receive the logistical coordination, programmatic materials, and educator support they need to bring learning to life through field trips and in-class experiences.

As the primary owner of the Partner School Support (PSS) model, the Manager is responsible for ensuring that every participating school receives thoughtful, high-quality programming that strengthens academic learning, student engagement, and educational equity. The role combines program design, logistical planning, school partnership management, and team coordination.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of operations, instruction, and relationships. The Program Manager will eventually supervise a part-time Program Coordinator and oversee a team of volunteers and/or paid support staff. Until then, the Manager is the primary implementer of all PSS workstreams, with strategic direction and support from the Director of Programming & Communications. The Manager of Partner School Support position is full-time and exempt, based in the Washington, DC area. Live It Learn It operates a hybrid work model: while employees are expected to work in person for school visits, partner meetings, and program support, they may also work remotely for a portion of the week, depending on program needs.

    Compensation and Work Environment:

    • This is a full-time position (up to 40 hours)
    • Mix of remote and in-person work (must be available for in-person programming in Washington, DC)
    • Some early mornings and evenings required for school programs, as well as occasional evening and weekend events required to represent the organization.

    Reporting Structure:

This position reports to the LILI Head of Programming.

    Core Responsibilities of the Position:

    • Program Leadership & Strategic Execution (25%)
      • Lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the LILI Field Experience Days and flagship programs for a portfolio of partner schools.
      • Translate organizational goals into actionable systems, tools, and processes that ensure consistent, equitable, and high-quality support for partner schools.
      • Manage timelines, calendars, systems, and planning tools to ensure every detail from bus pickup to volunteer prep is aligned and on track
      • Serve as the lead decision-maker and problem-solver for all PSS-related programming, adjusting plans in real time as needed.
    • School Partnership & Program Coordination (25%)
      • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned partner schools (administrators and educators), ensuring consistent, responsive, and clear communication.
      • Lead beginning-of-year planning and ongoing check-ins with each school to align on goals, experiences, and support needs.
      • Support schools in planning and executing quarterly field experiences by managing scheduling, reservations, transportation, and materials.
      • Maintain strong working relationships with school administrators, teachers, and field trip destinations to ensure successful programming.
      • Ensure schools feel informed, empowered, and supported through every step of the programming process.
    • Volunteer & Day-of Program Management (25%)
      • Lead the planning and execution of all day-of logistics for Field Experience Days and Flagship Programs, ensuring each experience is timely, well-staffed, and aligned with LILI’s standards of quality.
      • Serve as the on-site point person during field experiences, monitoring program quality, supporting educators, and resolving issues in real time.
      • Oversee volunteer and staff onboarding, including training on expectations, logistics, and instructional quality—developing systems that support role clarity, preparedness, and coaching.
      • Manage day-of communications and staffing assignments, ensuring all team members have the materials, information, and confidence needed to deliver engaging, student-centered experiences.
      • Provide direct program support as needed, including leading pre-lessons, facilitating trips, or stepping in to ensure program continuity.
    • Curriculum & Material Development (15%)
      • Assist in developing lesson plans, PowerPoints, trip guides, and student-facing resources that align with academic standards and LILI’s instructional approach.
      • Adapt materials quarterly to reflect shifts in DCPS curriculum and seasonal field experience availability
      • Develop or improve tools that make volunteer facilitation easier and more consistent
      • Support the creation and execution of immersive, multi-day LILI units by preparing logistics and coordinating educator support.
    • Feedback, Data & Storytelling (10%)
      • Collect and analyze educator feedback, student reflections, and volunteer input to inform continuous improvement
      • Work with the communications team to highlight school success stories, student voice, and program impact
      • Contribute to internal reports, newsletters, and funder updates related to PSS programming
      • Track program participation, logistical data, and quality indicators to inform decisions and share progress

    Minimum Requirements

    • 3–5 years of professional experience in education, youth development, nonprofit programming, or related fields
    • Experience managing logistics and/or coordinating multi-step projects involving multiple stakeholders (e.g., educators, vendors, volunteers)
    • Proficiency with tools such as Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), and comfort learning new systems for project tracking or scheduling
    • Must be based in the DC metro area or willing to relocate; this position requires in-person support for programming across the city

    Qualifications

    • Deeply committed to transforming lives through experiential learning, especially for diverse student populations in historically under-resourced communities.
    • Someone who values diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, and is excited to work alongside educators, schools, and partners to promote educational equity.
    • Has experience in developing, managing, or supporting educational or experiential learning programs—ideally in schools, nonprofits, or youth-serving organizations.
    • Equipped with strong communication and relationship-building skills, able to connect authentically with educators, vendors, and partners.
    • A proactive problem-solver who can anticipate logistical challenges and resolve them with minimal supervision.
    • A natural relationship-builder who communicates clearly and reliably with teachers, administrators, and partners providing clear, timely updates making teachers feel supported every step of the way.
    • A stickler for details who thrives when juggling logistics, materials, and scheduling, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
    • A project manager who can work backwards from a deadline, create a plan, and stay calm and solutions-focused when plans shift unexpectedly.
    • Comfortable in both behind-the-scenes and student-facing roles—ready to teach, lead, or support when needed.
    • A willingness to be a professional brand ambassador for Live It Learn It who will represent our mission with enthusiasm and clarity.
    • A strong self-starter who takes initiative and is eager to test out new ideas.
    • Familiar with Washington, DC public schools or youth development organizations (preferred but not required).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in school based learning, curriculum-aligned field trips, or place-based education
    • Background in instructional design or teaching, particularly at the elementary level
    • Familiarity with DCPS pacing guides and academic standards, or ability to align programming to curriculum objectives
    • Experience recruiting, training, or supervising volunteers, interns, or part-time staff

    Salary Range

Compensation is based on experience, and falls in the $62k- $72k a year range.
