    POSITION SUMMARY

    Friends of San Francisco Animal Care and Control (FSFACC) is the only organization dedicated to raising funds for the City’s municipal, open-admission animal shelter and its rescue partners in order to enhance or establish programs and services that benefit animals, and serve and educate the public.

    As a key member of the team, the Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting FSFACC's efficient operations and fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Director of Development and Communications (DDC) and supporting the FSFACC Board, this full-time role focuses on database work, gift processing, donor correspondence, social media coordination, and administrative needs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conducts gift operations by reviewing incoming contributions from multiple avenues, ensuring accuracy with proper documentation
    • Manages acknowledgment and fulfillment processes, including working with Board members to update and personalize communications
    • Supports donor appeal mailings and digital appeal logistics
    • Generates reports and representations of data as well as presentations, prepares for meetings, and orders supplies
    • Provides scheduling support for DDC, Board Members, and donor meetings
    • Provides excellent and timely customer service, interfacing with donors and prospects by phone, email, and other avenues
    • Conducts appropriate research tasks for donor meetings and appeals with screening software and other tools
    • Aids in creating and maintaining recognition opportunity tracking
    • Builds relationships with SFACC staff, allowing for ease of communication flow and needs
    • Assists with donor reporting needs and grant writing support, where applicable
    • Ability to read, interpret, and create documents such as how-to’s, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Endeavors to anticipate DDC and Board needs to ensure efficient support of FSFACC efforts

    EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

    The ideal candidate will possess a combination of the following education and/or equivalent experience

    • One+ year of similar experience
    • Base experience with database software
    • Knowledge of working with a Board, Development, or Fundraising Department or knowledge of Non-Profit environments preferred
    • Knowledge of Google and MS Office tools
    • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, or Meta Business Suite).

    • Attention to detail, aims to achieve deadlines, and ability to take initiative
    • Energetic, self-directed, and assertive, but also flexible, creative, and understanding
    • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others
    • Able to collaborate effectively and successfully with peers, external volunteers, vendors, and donors
    • Precise and efficient communication and writing skills to respond to inquiries and compose correspondence verbally or written
    • Exceptional thought to time-management
    • Developed writing and presentation skills
    • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and excellent multi-tasker
    • A good attitude and sense of enjoyment when working with different groups of people, exploring diverse viewpoints, and finding points of agreement to move a project forward
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and use good judgment
    • Interest and/or experience in animal shelters
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed

    COMPENSATION/BENEFITS

    The salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, skills/knowledge, and internal equity. We believe in fair and equitable compensation practices and are committed to providing competitive salaries within the industry and market standards. Friends of SFACC offers a total compensation package that emphasizes both base salary and comprehensive benefits based on the hours per week worked. Further details regarding compensation and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.

    This position is based in San Francisco, California. It offers the flexibility to be remote, with the expectation of being onsite or helping with in-person local events at SFACC at least 2 times per week, which may fluctuate based on business needs.     Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
