    Overview of The Chiles Academy:

The mission of The Chiles Academy is to combine a community of support and guidance for pregnant and parenting students with the goal of attaining a high school diploma which will empower them to become independent and responsible citizens. The Chiles Academy is a public charter school named in honor of former Florida Governor Lawton Chiles who believed in improving the lives of all children. We offer a specialized curriculum, parenting classes, on-site child care, and referrals with community resources. By completing hybrid online learning and live taught classes led by certified teachers, original high school credit is earned for a standard high school diploma. Students participate in career exploration tracks throughout the year called Career Connections. This program allows students to get a taste of real life in the world of business, child care, food service, healthcare, and community organizing and social justice. Students can also use their career cash to purchase needed clothing, toys, diapers, wipes and other high demand items for young moms.
