CORA is a nonprofit food pantry serving Chatham County that has provided nutritious food to neighbors in need for 37 years. We're looking for a Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Development and Communications team and help build the relationships that make our work possible.
This is a full-time, exempt position focused on volunteer recruitment and coordination, community outreach, and partnership development. The right person is a natural connector who brings warmth, initiative, and genuine investment in the community.
What you'll do: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers across pantry shifts, programs, and events. Build and sustain relationships with volunteers, faith communities, civic organizations, schools, and businesses. Coordinate food drives and PORCH community collections. Represent CORA at outreach events throughout Chatham County. Maintain volunteer records and support recognition and retention efforts.
What we're looking for: Three or more years of experience in volunteer coordination, community outreach, nonprofit programming, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Valid NC driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Spanish proficiency is a plus.
This position pays $50,000 annually.
