    The Role

    As an Analytics Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of tech, research, and programs. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers program evaluation and strategic decision-making across the organization.     Key Responsibilities:

    Data Modeling and Integrity (40%):

    • Develop and maintain scalable data models that ensure accuracy and reliability. You'll work closely with analysts, engineers, and product managers to understand their data needs and design solutions that support their goals. This includes implementing data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity, as well as maintaining the code and documentation that power these automations.

    Data Engineering and Database Management (35%):

    • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to efficiently transform and load data from various sources. You'll play a key role in designing, managing, and maintaining our databases as we scale to ensure they are efficient and organized.

    Dashboard Construction and Maintenance (25%):

    • Build and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and documentation using business intelligence (BI) tools. You will translate complex data into clear, actionable visualizations that enable our teams to make data-driven decisions.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Experience & Education: You have 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics, or a similar field. A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required.
    • Coding Proficiency: You must have a mastery of SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and optimization. You have experience with R and Python for data wrangling, scripting, and automation.
    • ETL Knowledge: You have expertise in designing, building, and optimizing custom ETL solutions in Python complemented with experience leveraging platforms with out-of-the-box solutions like Workato, Fivetran, Mulesoft, and Census.
    • Database Administration: You have experience with data warehousing tools like Snowflake, GCP, or Redshift. You understand database performance tuning, security best practices, and can handle projects like task/procedure setup, archival, backup/recovery, user permissions, and schema optimization.
    • Business Intelligence: You’ve worked with modern BI and data science tools such as Tableau, Jupyter, Hex, Mode, or Sisense.
    • Version Control: You have hands-on experience with Git and a solid understanding of version control best practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
    • Project Management: You’re familiar with leading projects, communicating timelines, expectations, progress, and problems. You’re comfortable collaborating with technical and non-technical team members and explain complex concepts clearly.
