    Job Summary

    The Development Director plays a crucial role in driving the organization's fundraising efforts and enhancing its public relations strategy. The ideal candidate will lead the strategy and execution for all of CAST's grant writing and fundraising to generate revenue and ensuring effective communication of the organization’s mission. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising campaigns, managing budgets, identifying and cultivating donors. The Director of Development will report to the Chief Advancement Officer. The candidate will also work closely with the Executive Director and department heads and is supported by the Marketing and Development Associate and Administration and Development Assistant.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Create an annual fundraising plan, identify new revenue streams and adapting strategies based on performance and changing needs.
    • Lead grant writing process including partnering with department heads on successful grant applications, reporting , research/identifying new opportunities, and maintaining the grant calendar.
    • Drive and expand fundraising efforts including CAST's annual fundraisers, fundraising partnerships, annual appeals, and donor stewardship to meet organizational goals. This involves planning and executing fundraising events, managing direct mail campaigns, and overseeing online fundraising efforts.
    • Oversee maintenance of CAST's donor and grant database in EveryAction and ensure we are leveraging its functionality.
    • Manage Development team, as well as recruiting, training, and supervising fundraising staff, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to succeed.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director, department heads, and the Board to promote and advance CAST's mission.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective CAST donors, partners and volunteers.
    • Works closely with the marketing and communications team to promote fundraising efforts and with the finance department to manage budgets and track fundraising results.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • 5+ years experience
    • Proven experience in fundraising, public relations, or related fields is essential.
    • This position requires a motivated individual who can work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment. The Development Director will be instrumental in advancing the organization's mission through innovative fundraising strategies and community engagement initiatives.
    • Must have strong leadership skills, communication skills, and organizational skills.
    • Maintain a positive attitude, be creative and work well in a team environment.
