    The K-5 Co-Director is an integral part of the K-8 Leadership Team and is responsible for the overall administration, leadership, and management of the elementary school in collaboration with the onsite K-8 Co-Director.

CRCS students will meet or exceed the Next Generation standards and be prepared to excel in the 21st century by being taught to be independent thinkers and to work productively within a diverse group of learners. At CRCS students will learn to combine curiosity with appropriate application, which will lead to deep understanding and the confidence to take on challenges to become who they want to be.

    Community Roots is hiring:

    We are currently looking for a K-5 Co-Director who will work to be both innovative and inspiring in the pursuit of meeting the needs of all students in grades K-5. This position will report to the K-8 Co-Directors.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field.
    • Valid administrative certification/license
    • Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
    • Strong understanding of Community Roots instructional approach, restorative practices, and anti-bias education.
    • Prior leadership or administrative experience in a school setting.
    • Excellent communication, organizational and collaboration skills.

    Preferred:

    • Experience as an assistant principal or principal.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize student achievement while creating a nurturing and encouraging school environment

    Main responsibilities will include:

    General:

    • Oversee curriculum and instruction in collaboration with ES Co-Director and work collaboratively with K-8 Co-Directors to ensure vertical alignment K-8
    • Oversee restorative practices and approach to discipline in collaboration with ES Co-Director
    • Oversee school culture and environment in collaboration with ES Co-Director
    • Oversee approach to family involvement and communication in collaboration with ES Co-Director
    • Oversee approach to professional development in collaboration with ES Co-Director
    • Oversee school operations in collaboration with ES Co-Director
    • Oversee relationships with school building principals and buildingwide staff
    • Oversee annual school level goal setting and tracking progress towards goals in collaboration with data specialist and school leadership team
      • Work as part of leadership to assess and address differences in sub group performance (race, IEP status, ELL, gender, and socioeconomic demographic)

    Instructional Leadership

    • Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional programs and ensure vertical alignment K-8.
    • Analyze student performance data to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
    • Support teachers in using effective instructional strategies through professional development, coaching and feedback.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and high academic standards.

    Supervision

    • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teachers and support staff.
    • Supervise K-5 faculty in collaboration with ES Co-Director
      • Observe regularly (frequency dependent on teacher experience) and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
    • Attend classroom level and team meetings weekly
    • Support veteran teachers in goal setting and progress towards goals
    • Co-Supervise Social Work Department, ES Director of Operations, Coordinator of Community Development, Coordinator of Restorative Practices, Crisis Team

    Board

    • Attend monthly Board meetings and provide regular reports to the Board based on areas of oversight.
