    Descrição

Patriotic Millionaires is a collection of wealthy Americans that leverages its influence and unique voice to advance a vibrant and equitable economy, built on the foundation of a fair tax system, a livable wage floor, and equal access to political power. Our agenda is simple: Tax the Rich, Pay the People, Spread the Power.

We are seeking an experienced development professional for stewarding and growing a high‑touch membership program, cultivating new prospects, co-leading two annual in-person member events in DC, and strengthening the organization’s overall fundraising strategy across both our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) entities.

This role is ideal for someone who has previously served as a Development Director of a membership organization or a Deputy of a major organization, and brings 5-7 years of overall development experience, with a strong track record in major gifts, prospecting, and relationship‑driven fundraising.

    Membership & Major Gifts

    • Lead stewardship and renewal of a high‑capacity membership base through personalized outreach and consistent engagement.
    • Drive prospecting efforts with an entrepreneurial mindset in identifying, cultivating, and securing new members aligned with our mission.
    • Oversee a structured stewardship calendar including calls, personalized emails, handwritten notes, Zoom conversations, and in‑person meetings.
    • Partner with the President to prepare for donor conversations, briefings, and strategic asks.

    Fundraising Strategy & Systems

    • Maintain and refine existing development systems, pipelines, and CRM processes to support accurate tracking and forecasting.
    • Develop annual fundraising plans and revenue projections for both the c3 and c4.
    • Ensure clear, compliant separation of c3/c4 fundraising activities, working closely with internal compliance staff.

    Foundation & Institutional Giving

    • Cultivate and manage relationships with private foundations and institutional funders.
    • Oversee the grants calendar and proposal strategy; manage consultants or staff who support grant writing.
    • Ensure timely submission of proposals, reports, and stewardship materials (without necessarily needing to be the primary grant writer).

    Events & Member Convenings

    • Co‑lead the design and content planning for two annual member convenings (a major spring conference and a more intimate fall gathering).
    • Shape the strategic flow, themes, and member experience while delegating logistics to staff and consultants.
    • Support smaller donor gatherings or briefings as needed.

    Team Leadership

    • Supervise 1–2 development staff, providing mentorship, accountability, and professional growth opportunities.
    • Manage external consultants supporting development, events, or grants.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, clarity, and high standards.

    Cross‑Organizational Collaboration

    • Work closely with program, communications, and policy teams to align messaging and donor engagement.
    • Partner with the President and senior leadership on organizational strategy and long‑term sustainability.

    Qualifications

    • Previously served as a Development Director strong preferred.
    • 5-7 years of progressive development experience, with a strong major‑gifts background.
    • Demonstrated success cultivating and closing high‑capacity donors.
    • Experience with foundation and institutional philanthropy; comfort overseeing (but not necessarily writing) grants.
    • Strong understanding of fundraising in a dual 501(c)(3)/(c)(4) environment.
    • Exceptional relationship‑building skills , warm, polished, and confident with senior‑level donors.
    • Strong organizational and systems skills; comfort maintaining and refining CRM processes.
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify new prospects and opportunities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a small, mission‑driven, collaborative team.
    • Commitment to economic and social justice values.

    Work Environment & Travel

    • Hybrid role based in Washington, DC; ideally in‑office three days per week (negotiable).
    • Occasional travel for donor meetings and events; annual convenings are held in DC.
    • We prioritize reasonable work‑life balance and a supportive team culture.

    Benefícios

Healthcare, vision and dental provided; 401k matching; generous paid time off; and more.
