    Overview

    Bridges is a youth-development program that is committed to the long-term success of Baltimore City youth and to providing life-changing opportunities to independent school students. In the 2025-2026 program year, Bridges will work with 871 young people – 485 Baltimore City youth ages 9-23 and 386 independent school students – through its sites at The St. Paul’s Schools, Gilman School, The Bryn Mawr School, and McDonogh School.

    The Opportunity

    Bridges is seeking candidates for the role of High School Success Specialist to join the Bridges at Bryn Mawr team. The holder of this role will be hired and employed by The Bryn Mawr School and work with other members of Bridges’ High School, College, & Career Division. Bridges currently works with 86 Baltimore City high school students and the first cohort of Bridges at Bryn Mawr students will move up to high school at the end of the 2025-2026 school year. The High School Success Specialist will support the success of Bridges students by taking on four key responsibilities:

    1. Student Success Support: The Specialist will work with a caseload of approximately 40 students throughout the year. Advising includes meeting individually with students on a monthly basis to discuss and offer support for academic progress, career goals, and development of life skills.
    2. Program Planning, Execution, and Enhancement: In addition to a primary role in advising and one-to-one support, the holder of this position will assist with planning, facilitating, and evaluating seasonal enrichment programs. Current programs include after school tutoring at the Bridges Baltimore office in Belvedere Square, a monthly Saturday Institute (October-May), and a five-week Summer Jobs Program held on campus at Loyola University Maryland.
    3. Communications: The holder of this role is a member of the Bridges News Team and will be responsible for capturing photos, videos, and stories for Bridges’ marketing and communications via social media and newsletter.
    4. Administrative Responsibilities: The Specialist will have general administrative responsibilities, including representing the division at team meetings; completing divisional reporting and keeping case notes; and communicating with students, families, and others via phone and e-mail.

    Ideal Candidates

    • Have a bachelor’s degree
    • Have 1-4 years of work experience in a relevant field with a track record of success. Candidates with less or more experience are welcome to apply.
    • Have experience or interest in working with and coaching a high school student population, with comfort and confidence meeting students and families where they are
    • Are able to form strong relationships with a range of people regardless of background and can communicate in a culturally competent manner
    • Have strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work both individually and with a diverse team
    • Keep an attitude of optimism and positivity in their work
    • Are proficient in workplace technology including e-mail, text, Microsoft and Google suite, and the ability to adapt to other tools as needed
    • Have a driver’s license and a reliable form of transportation
    • While not a requirement, candidates with proficiency in Spanish language skills are strongly encouraged to apply

    Details

    Compensation: The salary range for this full-time, 12-month role is $50,000-$57,500. The salary that will be offered to the final candidate will be in this range and dependent on several factors, including years of experience, education, and skills.

    Supervision: This role is supervised jointly by the Bridges at Bryn Mawr Site Director and the Bridges Baltimore Senior Director of High School, College, and Career Programs.

    Start Date: We look forward to bringing someone on before the start of Summer 2026, ideally around June 1.

    Location: This role will be based in Baltimore, MD and require meetings at various locations in the metropolitan region. The majority of work is in-person with some hybrid flexibility to be determined with the role’s supervisor.

    Hours: This 40-hour per-week role requires some weekend and evening work. Your 40-hour schedule will be determined in partnership with your supervisor.
