    Human Resources Generalist

    Status: Full Time

    Location: 75% remote/25% onsite in Shoreline, must live in Washington state

    About the Position

    The position is responsible for the day-to-day execution of human resources responsibilities, including performance management, recruitment, employee relations, manager/supervisor training, and leave management.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Educate and support hiring managers on overall hiring process, reviews and assists with job descriptions, sources and screens candidates, and advertises for position openings.
    • Organize, train, and project manage the annual assessment process for employees.
    • Foster a culture of continuous feedback and performance improvement, encouraging employees to take ownership of their development.
    • Develop and implement PIPs for employees demonstrating performance issues, providing targeted support and interventions.
    • Use job boards, social media, and networking to source potential candidates. Review resumes and conduct phone, virtual, or in-person interviews. Screen potential candidates and refer to hiring managers.
    • Train and support managers on effective performance management practices, including providing regular feedback, conducting performance discussions, and addressing performance issues.
    • Work with hiring managers to create and negotiate job offers and check references as needed.
    • Set and coordinate group/panel interviews if needed.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as agency policies.
    • Administer the leave process from the initial request to the employee's return to work. This includes gathering paperwork, determining eligibility, and requesting medical certification.
    • Work with payroll regarding pay for individuals on leave of absence.
    • Provide guidance on HR policies, and act as a liaison between employees and management to foster a positive work environment.
    • Conduct conflict resolution conversations and/or investigations if needed.
    • Complete projects for Human Resources and other duties as assigned by manager.

    Position Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required. Can be replaced with equivalent work experience.
    • 5+ years’ generalist experience in human resources required.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships.
    • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
    • Commitment to building and strengthening equity practices.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Commitment for all employees to work toward including trauma informed care practices in their daily work.
    • Commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Wonderland employees are mandated reporters of any suspected abuse or neglect of a child to DCYF (CPS) and/or law enforcement.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements

    While performing this job, the employee will be in an office environment and their home. At times, this position may lift boxes or items up to 30 pounds. This position sits for prolonged periods of time, reaches above the head, and uses a screen for up to 7 hours a day.

We reach hundreds of families every month through Early Support programs & services and Hope RISING Clinic for Prenatal Substance Exposure.
