Job Description

The Boston Community Health Collaborative is a cross-sector partnership of local healthcare institutions, public health, and community organizations working to strengthen the health and wellbeing of Boston residents through aligning community health assessment requirements and improvement planning strategies. This partnership is convened through the Boston Public Health Commission.

The Project Coordinator serves as a key integrator within the central convening team of the Boston Community Health Collaborative, coordinating projects and processes to promote smooth collaboration and effective team operations. Reporting to the Project Director for Community Health Needs Assessment and Improvement Planning at Boston Public Health Commission, the Coordinator drives team-wide coherence through tracking key project outcomes and coordinating daily operations and logistics related to the implementation of a triennial citywide Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). In addition, this position plays a critical external-facing role, managing communications and outreach to key partners to strengthen collaboration, align activities, and support shared progress towards the goals for healthy, thriving communities across Boston.

DUTIES

• Support in the development, tracking, and implementation of project workplans, timelines, and performance measures to meet project goals and deliverables.
• Cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships with internal teams, community-based organizations, healthcare system partners, and governmental agencies to advance cross-sector public health improvement efforts.
• Coordinate planning and execution of stakeholder engagements, meetings, events, and hybrid activities and facilitate inclusive dialogue and participation.
• Produce and disseminate clear, accessible communication materials, including memos, presentations, reports, flyers and other forms of communication to reflect project priorities, activities, and outcomes.
• Contribute to assessing program progress and community impact, and help translate key learnings into clear and engaging reports and presentations.
• Track ad-hoc data requests and presentations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity-building among collaborative partners to promote evidence-based approaches to community health improvement planning.
• Work alongside Director of Policy and Project Director to ensure that project aligns with organizational priorities and public health accreditation standards.
• Work to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.
• Coordinate and support with drafting, reviewing, and submitting grant proposals.
• Help strengthen the project’s structure and practices to promote racial and health equity and ensure decision-making processes center community voice.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience in project coordination, program support, or administrative roles within public health, healthcare, or mission-driven organizations. Prior experience working in roles that support multiple team members and engaging with cross-sector partners is preferred.
• Candidates in this position must be highly motivated, capable of self-directed work, flexible, and committed to continuous learning and growing in support of team and community goals.
• Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and follow through with multiple tasks while maintaining outstanding attention to detail.
• Is proactive by anticipating and meeting demands with flexibility and good humor while supporting a dynamic team.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including strong interpersonal, written, and active listening skills.
• Strong familiarity with Boston neighborhoods, especially those that have faced barriers to health, and a demonstrated commitment to building partnerships and solutions that help all residents thrive.
• Ability to synthesize, prepare and present information, written and oral, including reports, presentations, and other materials in a clear, coherent, and concise manner.
• Possesses computer literacy skills, including demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, social media. Familiarity with collaborative project management tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.

Pay Range

$60,000 to $70,000 Annually
