    PURPOSE STATEMENT:

    The Technology & Data role strengthens Ayuda’s internal operations by managing technology systems, ensuring data accuracy and security, streamlining processes, and supporting staff through training. It drives innovation and efficiency in the organization’s data entry, use, and reporting.

    ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE

    Ayuda is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing direct legal, social and language access services, education, and outreach to low-income immigrants in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Since 1973, Ayuda has provided critical services on a wide range of issues, in the process acquiring nationally recognized expertise in several fields including immigration law, language access, domestic violence and human trafficking. Ayuda has office locations in Washington, DC, Silver Spring, MD and Fairfax, VA.

    WHAT WILL THIS JOB ENTAIL?

    Systems and Data Management

    • Serve as the internal expert and lead system administrator for Microsoft O365, Legal Server, Salesforce, and other organizational technology systems.
    • Provide staff training and support on effective use of technology tools and systems.
    • Advise on, evaluate, and support implementation of new IT tools and platforms to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
    • Oversee and improve data hygiene, accuracy, and security across departments.
    • Build, run, and analyze reports to support internal decision-making and organizational outcomes.
    • Oversee and maintain IT-related policies, ensuring compliance and best practices.
    • Manage relationships with IT vendors, software providers, and consultants.

    Data for Grant Reporting (approx. 25% of role)

    • Support the Grants team by compiling, cleaning, and analyzing data from Legal Server and other systems for external grant reports.
    • Streamline and improve reporting processes, including the use of pivot tables and data visualization tools.
    • Implement and educate staff on Legal Server updates or configurations required for grant compliance.
    • Ensure timely, accurate data entry and reporting for monthly, quarterly, and annual funder requirements, under the supervision of the Director of Grants.

    Staff Support and Training

    • Mentor and train the Operations Associate on technology systems, IT security and administration.
    • Mentor and train the Intake/Operations Manager in database system use, customization, and management.
    • Partner with staff across the organization to ensure effective and efficient use of technology and data systems.

    HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU CAN DO THIS JOB?

    Education/Experience:

    • At least 3 years of experience in IT and system management
    • Nonprofit experience preferred
    • Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
    • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and practices
    • Supervision experience preferred
