Gustavo Dudamel will become the Philharmonic’s Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Music and Artistic Director in the 2026–27 season.
The New York Philharmonic seeks a Vice President, Production, who will oversee and be responsible for all aspects of its concert production, media capture, touring, and venue relationships, including, but not limited to David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. This senior level position will take the lead in coordinating operational logistics associated with New York Philharmonic performances and events at our home venue in New York, and on tour. This position will be responsible for finding opportunities to maximize revenue through creative and nimble scheduling, coordinating and operationalizing innovative performance formats across genres. The Vice President, Production, will oversee media functions as it relates to the capturing and dissemination of audio and visual content, working within all applicable media agreements to produce high quality content within tight budgetary parameters.
Your Day-to-Day
What You Bring to the Team
College level degree with a minimum of 7 years’ experience working in a production or operations management role (orchestra, opera or musical theatre) is preferred. Experience working as a senior leader at a major orchestra, arts institution or media organization. Strong knowledge of lighting, live sound, audio recording, video and projection, rigging, scenery, props, costumes, stage management, freight/cargo and similar. Keen aesthetic sense essential to ensure the New York Philharmonic is always presented beautifully. Experience working with contracts and collective bargaining agreements, exceptional management, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets, knowledge of classical music desired and must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, holidays and weekends.
