    ROLE OVERVIEW

    As WAA’s next Program Director for the Woodinville Creative District, you will be helping us continue to build the organization as we start our second year. You will serve as the operational leader of the District, in partnership with the Creative District Chair and other team members, as well as other WAA staff. Reporting directly to the Creative District Chair, you will oversee day-to-day management, fund tracking, task execution, and community engagement - all with a focus on measurable growth, financial transparency, and building long-term sustainability.

    You will help forge strategic partnerships across Woodinville’s vibrant creative community, and help us spotlight and support its creative soul. This role is ideal for a dynamic, detail-minded leader who thrives on building community through the arts.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic Program Planning & Execution

    • Translate the Creative District’s vision into annual program plans with clear milestones, deliverables, and evaluation metrics.
    • Launch and manage core initiatives, such as public art projects, business/artist partnerships like the Creative Collective, creative community workshops, etc.
    • Track and report on program impact, ensuring alignment with Creative District goals and WAA’s strategic priorities.

    Leadership & Organizational Management

    • Serve as the day-to-day leader of the Creative District program; build and maintain partnerships across local government, businesses, cultural institutions and civic organizations, and the community.
    • Establish operational systems, policies, and procedures to support growth and program integrity, while ensuring compliance with all relevant government nonprofit regulations and laws, and WAA bylaws.
    • Recruit and manage volunteers, artists, and part-time contractors as needed to implement projects.

    Financial Management & Fundraising

    • Identify, apply for, and manage public and private grant opportunities in coordination with WAA leadership.
    • Cultivate sponsorships and donations from individuals, foundations, and local businesses in partnership with WAA leadership.
    • Support the development of earned-revenue strategies aligned with mission and capacity.

    Community Engagement & Advocacy

    • With the Creative District Chair, act as a visible and accessible liaison to Woodinville’s creative and business communities.
    • With the Creative District Chair, represent the Creative District at City Council and other public forums, advocating for investment in arts and culture.
    • Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of the Woodinville community.

    Marketing & Communications

    • Collaborate closely with the WAA Marketing Director to ensure marketing/advertising/social media program elements maintain a cohesive and compelling brand voice.
    • Partner with WAA’s Marketing Director to ensure District programs are included in WAA’s marketing and advertising materials.
    • Expand public awareness, deepen community engagement, and grow membership and event attendance.

    Governance & Board Relations

    • Maintain effective working relationships with the WAA Executive Director, Board of Directors, the Creative District Program Team, and the Creative Collective.
    • Support governance functions, such as strategic planning sessions, annual reporting, and committee collaboration.
    • Provide the Board with timely bi-monthly financial and impact reports, including forecasts and year-to-date performance updates against plan.

    HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED

    • Successful execution of events and programs, including participation and financial outcomes
    • Achievement of fundraising targets (grants, sponsorships, donations)
    • Financial health: meeting budget, maintaining positive cash flow, timely and accurate financial reporting
    • Increased Creative District visibility and influence across Woodinville and surrounding communities
    • High satisfaction from board, staff, volunteers, and community partners
    • Membership and donor base growth

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

    • 3+ years of nonprofit leadership, community organizing, arts, or program management experience
    • Proven track record in budget oversight, fundraising participation, and organizational growth
    • Strong leadership, relationship-building, and project management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
    • Deep passion for the arts, culture, and community engagement

    Preferred:

    • Experience working with boards and volunteer-led organizations
    • Familiarity with Woodinville and the surrounding arts/culture community
    • Grant writing and sponsorship development experience
    • Competency with digital tools for financial reporting, communications, and project management
