    ABOUT US

MVP funds local organizing and movement-building groups working to shift culture, win power, and shape policy.

MVP operates like a “mutual fund” for political giving: We raise money from donors, then channel it toward the most impactful organizations and power-building work around the country. Learn more: https://movement.vote.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

The Donor Community Advisor is a core member of MVP's fundraising team responsible for our mid-level fundraising program ($1,000-9,999 in annual giving), including the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of 300+ donor households giving between $5,000 and $9,999 annually, and collaborating on data-driven and relational communications strategies to reach 5,000+ households giving $1,000 or more annually. This is a new role contributing to a newly defined segment of our donor base work, combining traditional fundraising, donor organizing, donor education, and campaign-driven outreach.

This position reports to the Donor Team Chief of Staff and works closely with colleagues across Donor Advising (major gifts), Donor Organizing, and Communications.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

Note: This is not necessarily an exhaustive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required.

    Portfolio Management

    • Manage a portfolio of approximately 300 households giving $5k-10k annually, through personalized 1:1 and 1:many engagement strategies.
    • Connect with portfolio donors online and (ideally) in person to build and deepen relationships
    • Help identify major-gift prospects and coordinate portfolio transitions with the Donor Advising team.

    Solicitation & Campaign Execution

    • Design and execute structured 1:1 and 1:many outreach and solicitation for portfolio households.
    • Execute multi-channel outreach — including email, phone, text, mail, and events — ensuring meaningful and consistent touchpoints.
    • Strategize and execute mass communications, organizing, and solicitation outreach for donors at the $1,000–$4,999 giving level, including data segmentation, messaging, and email writing.

    Donor Education & Donor Organizing

    • Partner with the Donor Organizing team to inspire and mobilize donors, helping them activate their networks in support of grassroots movements and aligned campaigns that are building long-term power.
    • Organize and participate in donor events, conferences, and other gatherings to deepen engagement and expand MVP’s community of supporters.

    Strategy, Analytics, & Reporting

    • Contribute to donor segmentation analysis and performance reporting.
    • Track and analyze portfolio metrics — including renewal rates, upgrade rates, and lapsed donor reactivation — to inform ongoing strategy.
    • Ensure all donor interactions are accurately logged in Salesforce with attention to data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Support a culture of testing and iteration across the mid-level program.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Note: Well-qualified candidates may not necessarily meet every single point below.

    • Demonstrated success in cultivating and soliciting donors at the $1,000+ level.
    • Strong proficiency in communicating with donor audiences.
    • Confidence in managing a large portfolio with strong personal organization and follow-through.
    • Clear, inspiring written and verbal communication.
    • Data-informed analytical orientation towards campaign strategy and donor segmentation.
    • Proficiency with donor databases; Salesforce experience strongly preferred.
    • Ability to work with independence and manage competing priorities without dedicated analytical support.
    • Knowledge of and passion for social justice, base-building community organizing, progressive movements, and/or Democratic politics.
