Are you up for a challenge? Would you find yourself thriving by advocating for families whose homes and communities have been damaged or destroyed by disaster? This role is for someone who senses God's call to use fundraising as service and stewardship.

    About FCDR

Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders (FCDR) is a Christian disaster rebuilding organization helping families recover after catastrophic loss through home rebuilding, volunteer mobilization, and long-term community restoration. FCDR is entering a new season of growth as we strengthen fundraising capacity, expand donor relationships, and support future disaster recovery efforts and major initiatives such as the ROOTS Community Land Trust project in Western North Carolina.

    Position Summary

We are seeking a mission-driven Director of Development to lead fundraising strategy and donor engagement across major donors, churches, foundations, corporations, campaigns, recurring giving, and long-term donor stewardship. This is a builder role. The Director of Development will collaborate closely with the Executive Director, board members, volunteers, and strategic partners to deepen relationships, strengthen fundraising systems, and build sustainable support for FCDR’s mission and future growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and implement FCDR's development strategy and annual fundraising plan.
    • Manage donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and follow-up.
    • Build and manage major donor and prospect pipelines.
    • Strengthening church, corporate, foundation, and community partnerships
    • Support campaign fundraising efforts related to the ROOTS Community Land Trust initiative.
    • Help implement and manage CRM, donor tracking, stewardship, and reporting systems.
    • Coordinate donor communications, impact reports, and development materials.
    • Partner with executive leadership and board members on fundraising strategy and donor engagement
    • Support development dashboards, revenue forecasting, and board reporting.

    What Makes This Opportunity Unique

FCDR combines a deeply meaningful mission, visible impact in disaster-affected communities, strong volunteer engagement, authentic stories of transformation, and significant long-term growth opportunities. The right candidate will help shape the next stage of FCDR’s development work while preserving the relational, mission-centered culture that defines the organization. This is meaningful work connected to real families, real communities, and long-term recovery after disaster. It requires resilience, adaptability, humility, initiative, and a willingness to carry responsibility during both demanding and rewarding seasons.

The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive

The strongest candidates will be highly relational, self-directed, organized, adaptable, resilient, emotionally mature, and motivated by mission and service. This role will resonate most deeply with someone who feels personally called by God toward mission-driven service, relationship-centered fundraising, and helping build long-term impact for families recovering from disaster. The strongest fit will be someone energized by meaningful work, lasting impact, and the opportunity to help strengthen a mission that serves people in some of the hardest moments of their lives.

    • Ability to manage multiple donor relationships and priorities simultaneously.
    • Mature Christian faith and alignment with FCDR's Christian mission and values, including the ability to represent the organization's faith-based mission with integrity, humility, and professionalism.
