    About R.A.G.E.

    R.A.G.E. stands for the Resident Association of Greater Englewood, a Chicago based resident-driven association with nearly 500 members established to build relationships between Englewood's fellow residents, public officials, business owners and community organizations. Our mission is to create tangible solutions and mobilize residents and resources to restore our community. In order to accomplish our mission, it is vital to engage our members, residents and stakeholders through various channels and to continue to grow our reach throughout Greater Englewood while advancing economic justice initiatives.

    Job Summary

    The Program Coordinator will support the Program Manager in executing membership engagement strategies and youth development initiatives. This role will work directly with Englewood residents to implement specific R.A.G.E. initiatives, ensuring they reflect resident priorities and build community capacity. This role requires enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine commitment to resident empowerment.

    Strong preference will be given to candidates from the Englewood community who understand our neighborhood's challenges and opportunities firsthand. If not from Englewood, candidates must demonstrate a genuine love for the community and ability to relate authentically to residents.

    Responsibilities

    Membership Support

    • Coordinate membership outreach events and recruitment activities
    • Track membership applications and maintain accurate database records
    • Guide prospective members through the orientation process
    • Support the execution of membership meetings and engagement activities
    • Address member inquiries and connect them with appropriate resources
    • Coordinate distribution of membership materials and communications
    • Track member participation in R.A.G.E. programs and events
    • Identify opportunities to enhance member experience
    • Support the Program Manager in analyzing membership trends and engagement data
    • Recommend improvements to membership recruitment and retention processes

    Re-Up Our Future Youth Program Support

    • Coordinate scholarship application processes and communications
    • Track scholarship applications and supporting documentation
    • Support the planning and execution of the Re-Up Our Future Luncheon
    • Coordinate mentor-mentee matching processes and documentation
    • Guide mentors through program requirements and expectations
    • Track youth participation in entrepreneurship programming
    • Support outreach efforts to schools and youth-serving organizations
    • Address inquiries from scholarship applicants and their families
    • Identify potential youth program participants and mentors
    • Coordinate alumni communications and engagement activities

    General Responsibilities

    • Attend staff meetings and training sessions designed to increase professional knowledge
    • Promote R.A.G.E. by representing the organization at professional meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and establishing and maintaining credible relations with partners, allies, volunteers, governmental entities and other community-based organizations
    • Contribute to the overall success of R.A.G.E. by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed

    Qualifications

    • Experience in community organizing, community engagement and outreach
    • Knowledge of, or possession of well-established Englewood contacts (strongly preferred)
    • Ability to communicate effectively with people of all race/ethnicities, ages, cultural groups, economic status, disabilities and sexual orientation
    • Comfortable speaking with strangers and in public
    • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
    • Comfort in working independently and efficiently
    • Availability to work evening and weekend hours when needed
    • Dependable transportation
    • Strong social, interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Enthusiasm about community outreach and/or organizing
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Word, Excel, and a familiarity with CRMs. Proficient with Canva a plus.
    • Ability to relate authentically to Englewood residents and value their expertise

    Physical Requirements

    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
    • Local travel required and some evening and weekend work
    • Primary work hours will be between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm with flexible scheduling options
