    🐾 About Us

    Pilots To The Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to prevent at-risk animals from being euthanized by transporting them via air and ground transportation to give them the best chance at adoption. Over the past 10 years, we have saved more than 6,000 animals through partnerships with over 100 shelters across the country...and we're just getting started! Based in Brooklyn, our small but mighty team at Pilots To The Rescue hails from all walks of life: aviation, hospitality, philanthropy, tech, and business administration. What brings us together is our love for animals. We are hiring our first-ever Marketing Director to define, unify, and lead our marketing and communications strategy at a pivotal moment of growth. This role will dial up the national spotlight on Pilots To The Rescue, strengthening our brand, deepening emotional connection with supporters, and driving awareness, engagement, and revenue to ultimately save more furry lives.

    🎯 Position Summary

    Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Director of Development, the Marketing Director will ensure Pilots To The Rescue shows up consistently, powerfully, and authentically across all channels. This full-time, hybrid role is ideal for a hands-on marketing leader who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is excited to build systems, tell compelling stories, and drive impact at scale.

    Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies:

    • Create and execute comprehensive marketing plans to increase public awareness about Pilots To The Rescue’s mission and growth, utilizing various marketing channels including direct mail, e-newsletter, social media, email campaigns, and website.
    • Develop compelling content including success stories, images, and videos, and written communications, ensuring brand consistency across digital and print channels.
    • Working closely with our external PR agency partner, leverage press materials and media coverage to highlight Pilots To The Rescue’s mission and programs.
    • Own the marketing and communications calendar and ensure alignment across campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and events.

    Donor Engagement:

    • Provide regular updates and reports to corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual donors about the impact of contributions, including an annual Impact Report.

    Website

    • Ensure Pilots To The Rescue’s website is updated, user-friendly, and aligned with communications needs.
    • Coordinate with any external web/tech vendors or internal resources to update platform, functionality, content, and visuals.

    Event Promotion:

    • Promote fundraising campaigns and community events, ensuring maximum event participation and donations.

    Data Analysis:

    • Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of initiatives.
    • Prepare bi-monthly marketing reports for the board of directors.

    ✅ Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
    • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience
    • Must be comfortable working hybrid at our Greenpoint, Brooklyn office and be within a 1 hour commute
    • Demonstrated experience developing and executing comprehensive, integrated marketing strategies
    • Strong storytelling skills with experience creating or overseeing digital and visual content
    • Comfort working both strategically and hands-on in a small, quickly-scaling organization
    • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills with high attention to detail
    • Demonstrated passion for animal welfare and nonprofit mission work is preferred
