    CCS Summary: Since 1969, Center for Community Solutions (CCS) has been creating safe and healthy communities with a core emphasis on the prevention and intervention of sexual assault and relationship violence. Our mission is to end relationship and sexual violence by being a catalyst for caring communities.

    Summary: Under the direction of the Housing and Advocacy Services Director, the Associate Director of Residential Services position is responsible for client assessments and advocacy services. Implements best-practice service standards and establishes and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with community partners. Oversee operations of the North and East County domestic violence emergency shelters Hidden Valley House and Project Safe House. Supervises and schedules staff for program while ensuring compliance with agency and contract requirements.

    Essential Functions:

    • Conduct regular shelter facility inspections, coordinate needed repairs and maintenance, and communicate issues to landlords, CCS leadership, or other appropriate parties. Manage vendor relationships for plumbing, electrical, appliance, and ground maintenance, ensuring upkeep of major household appliances across both facilities.
    • Supervise four Family Advocates and two Advocacy Support Facilitators through weekly one-hour supervision sessions and case reviews—covering up to 14 families and 64 shelter beds—to ensure completion of job duties, assess performance, and identify training and professional development needs.
    • Train staff on site at Project Safe House and Hidden Valley House on how to appropriately conduct assessments, set goals with clients, and provide effective, trauma-informed ongoing advocacy for clients.
    • Coordinate staff submission of timekeeping records and work-related reimbursements to meet agency standards and deadlines for all direct reports.
    • Manage shelter volunteers for East and North County sites, ensuring volunteers are oriented to specific job duties as applicable per site.
    • Provide programming for both shelter site locations including children’s activities, possible support groups, and social events.
    • Facilitate weekly case review sessions providing staff with the space to brainstorm, share resources, and offer support.
    • Assist the Housing and Advocacy Services Director by completing regular reports to funders separately for both sites.
    • Share after-hours on-call leadership duties on a rotating basis with other management staff, at least 1.
    • week rotation at a time responding to staff crisis or need for assistance.
    • Manage proper use and record keeping of petty cash, gift cards and in-kind donations for both residential programs.
    • Coordinate in-kind donations including acceptance, delivery, required paperwork, and collaboration with donors for both sites.

    Job Requirements:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, public health, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
    • Complete California State-approved Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training, complete a minimum of 12 hours of ongoing training per year as required (or must complete upon hiring)

    Experience:

    • Minimum three (3) years’ experience overseeing direct services that include intimate partner violence, sexual assault, housing programs, child abuse issues, family violence intervention, and/or crisis intervention.
    • Two (2) or more years of program coordination or project management experience.
    • Three (3) or more years of experience supervising staff and volunteers.
    • Two (2) or more years of crisis counseling experience.
    • Proven experience overseeing housing and/or residential programs and services.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Bilingual/Multilingual fluency in one or more languages (oral and written)
    • Experience with developing and enhancing community collaborations.

    Working Environment:

    This position is hybrid-work eligible contingent on the operational needs of the department. It may allow for 2 days in person and 3 days remote but may be subject to change based on training and operational needs. This job operates in-person in a communal housing facility. Must maintain personal cell phone for work-related purposes. Ability to work in IPV, SA, and stalking fields. Working conditions may include possible exposure to communicable diseases related to those typically found in communal housing. This position is classified as critical and essential under Public Health Authority.

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to carry up to 20lbs.

    Travel:

    Required travel between East and North County shelter sites (approximately 50% within San Diego County). Must have reliable transportation available for work-related purposes, a valid California driver’s license, and proof of automobile insurance required.

    Work Hours:

    Generally, 8:30am to 5:00pm with some night and weekends hours. Schedule to be determined in coordination and approval by supervisor. Must be available to attend required training, team meetings, and provide client services, as needed.
