Organization Overview
Limitless Horizons Ixil (LHI) creates opportunities for the Indigenous youth, women, and families of
Chajul, Guatemala to develop the academic and professional skills needed to effect change in their lives
and community. Led by an all-female, majority-Indigenous leadership team, we run a full-day secondary
school, Colegio Horizontes; the Saber Sin Límites Community Library, Chajul's first public library; and our
Emerging Leaders program supporting alumni through their post-secondary transitions in the rural
highlands in an isolated Ixil-speaking community which was at the heart of the Guatemala armed
conflict and where educational opportunities are extremely scarce. In 2026, we'll celebrate our first-ever
high school graduation—a first in their family for many of our graduates and a historic milestone for
Chajul. LHI is a registered U.S. 501(c)(3) organization that also partners closely with a Guatemalan
accounting team to support its in-country NGO operations.
