    Descrição

ABOUT US: InnerCity Struggle (ICS) is a transformational and intergenerational movement that builds community power to advance justice, life opportunities, and dignity in the Eastside of Los Angeles. Our vision is for the Eastside of Los Angeles to be a thriving, multigenerational, and civically engaged community that ensures racial justice, a quality education, an equitable economy, and a healthy built environment for residents most impacted by systemic injustices. ICS organizes youth and families in Boyle Heights, unincorporated East Los Angeles, City Terrace, El Sereno, and Lincoln Heights.

Through our Youth Organizing Program, United Students (US), ICS organizes high school youth at our six Eastside high schools: Roosevelt High School, Mendez High School, Garfield High School, Lincoln High School, Esteban Torres High School, and Wilson High School. Through the high school-established campus based clubs, US provides leadership development, cultural and political education, as well as academic services to empower young people to develop into agents of social change. The purpose of United Students is to build student power to organize toward educational justice and create campaigns to challenge the existing social and economic inequities in the current educational system.

InnerCity Struggle is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, disability, gender, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or any other basis covered by appropriate law. We strongly encourage women, people of color, LGBTQ+ people, veterans, and people with disabilities to apply.

    • Develop youth-friendly curriculum on political education topics and leadership development skills
    • Responsible for the development and training of core youth leaders to recruit, engage, and sustain the involvement of an active base of youth members in campaigns at their school and in their community
