The National Book Foundation (NBF), presenter of the National Book Awards, is seeking a full-time Education Programs Manager to join our small and dynamic team. This position will report to the Director of Programs & Partnerships and work closely across a three-person programs team, providing essential project management and success of NBF’s slate of Education programs.
NBF’s literary programs leverage the organization’s long-standing relationships with publishers, authors, and a host of community partners to reach readers of all ages both locally in NYC and across the country. Education programs include: Book Rich Environments, a large-scale book giveaway program that serves public housing communities; BookUp, a direct service after-school reading program; NBF Teacher Fellowship, which supports 6th–12th grade teachers who make reading for pleasure a part of the school day; and Teens Read the National Book Awards, an annual event for young people celebrating current Young People’s Literature honorees.
The ideal start date for this position is August 2025. This is a full-time position based in New York City and operates on a flexible hybrid in-office/remote schedule. Some evening and weekend work is required; some travel is required.

Salary is $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience.
This is a full-time position based in New York City with a two day per week in-office requirement through the four-month probationary period. After the probationary period, there is a flexible in-office/remote hybrid schedule.
The National Book Foundation’s benefits package includes health and dental insurance with employer covered premiums at 90%, as well as vision, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability, and Paid Family Leave benefits. After one year of employment, NBF matches a 6% maximum of the employee’s 403(b) contribution. NBF provides 22 days paid time off per year, in addition to observing holidays, Summer Fridays and closing the office between Christmas Day and New Years Day.
