    Reports to: Adamah NY Director (with close partnership with the Adamah Youth Movement (AYM) national team)

    Salary: $52,000-55,000 annually, commensurate with experience

    Status: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime), Full time with Benefits

    Location: New York (hybrid; in Manhattan office 2 days per week with regular regional and occasional overnight domestic travel)

    Effective Starting: May 2026

    The Adamah Youth Movement NY Coordinator leads regional engagement for Adamah’s teen Jewish environmental education and climate leadership programs across New York. Working closely with the national Adamah Youth Movement team and vibrant growing team of Adamah NY Hub, the Coordinator recruits, supports, and grows a network of Jewish teen leaders through a NY Regional Board of teens and with the broader teen landscape in NY, and with local chapters (Kvutzot) focused on environmental education, climate action, and community building.

    The Coordinator cultivates youth leadership, facilitates programs and gatherings, and connects teens to Adamah’s wider network of opportunities. The role also helps strengthen partnerships with Jewish institutions, community organizations, and climate initiatives throughout New York.

    The Coordinator will work collaboratively across Adamah teams, including youth empowerment, the climate action team, and community partnerships, to ensure strong integration between local teen engagement and Adamah’s national mission. Based within the Adamah NY Community Impact Hub, the Coordinator will often support the Hub’s broader programming, including in-person facilitation and larger community events.

    This position is based in New York and requires regular in-person engagement, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight travel for programs, retreats, and national gatherings.

    Key Responsibilities

    Youth Movement Coordination, Environmental Education and Regional Programming (70%)

    • Design and facilitate engaging Jewish environmental education programs for teens across NYC, Westchester, and Long Island.
    • Support and facilitate a network of the NY Regional Board of the Adamah Youth Movement, a group of 18-20 teens who meet regularly for programming.
    • Supervise 1-2 interns to work with the Regional Board.
    • Organize in-person programs, regional retreats and immersive experiences that build community and deepen youth leadership around Jewish, Environmentalism and climate action.
    • Create opportunities for teens to share their work through storytelling, social media, blog posts, and community workshops and presentations.
    • Facilitate regional gatherings, meetups, and networking opportunities for teen leaders.
    • Collaborate with the national Adamah Youth Movement team on major retreats or conferences.
    • Work with Jewish and non-Jewish partner organizations to support collaborative environmental programming and youth engagement opportunities.
    • Encourage youth participation in broader Adamah initiatives and national opportunities.
    • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and provide program facilitation and ongoing support of Jewish teens involved in the Adamah Youth Movement in NY and nationally as relevant.
    • Support and grow a network of local teen chapters (Kvutzot) throughout New York by investing in existing groups and supporting the development of new chapters.

    Adamah NY Hub Collaboration and Community Engagement (20%)

    • Connect youth leaders to Adamah NY Hub programs and climate leadership initiatives.
    • Support the development of resources and programming for adult mentors, educators, and parents supporting youth climate leadership.
    • Collaborate with other Adamah programs—including campus engagement, Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition initiatives, and community partnerships—to integrate youth voices into broader Jewish environmental work.
    • Assist with Adamah NY public programming and events as needed.
    • Represent Adamah at community gatherings, conferences, and partner events.

    Program Administration and Organizational Collaboration (10%)

    • Maintain accurate records of program participation and engagement in Salesforce.
    • Support program evaluation, impact tracking, and reporting.
    • Assist with program logistics, budget tracking, and administrative needs as required.
    • Attend regular meetings with the Adamah NY team, national youth movement staff, and broader Adamah staff.
    • Contribute to newsletters, communications, and outreach materials.
    • Supervise 1-2 interns and work with volunteers as needed.
    • Participate in national retreats, trainings, and staff gatherings.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Strongly preferred

    • Experience in program and project development, planning and implementation
    • Experience with Jewish environmental education and youth leadership development
    • Experience working with teens and youth leadership programs
    • Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously
    • Ability to balance competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
    • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively across teams
    • Willingness to work evenings and weekends and travel regionally

    Other relevant experience

    • Familiarity with Jewish communal organizations, youth movements, or Jewish environmental work
    • Experience with outdoor education, nature curriculum, backpacking trips
    • Experience with program design, event planning, or community engagement
    • Experience with climate action and community organizing
    • Experience with CRM or data tools such as Salesforce
    • Background in climate education, environmental justice, or sustainability initiatives
