    St. Nicks Alliance (SNA) is a nonprofit, nonsectarian community-based organization founded in 1975 with the mission to transform lives of low- and moderate-income people in North Brooklyn through employment, education, housing, and health care. We do this by delivering impactful services with measurable outcomes to children, youth, adults, and the elderly. As a civic anchor, we carry out this mission within the context of building a sustainable community for all people through the arts, environmental advocacy, and urban planning.

    In support of this mission, St. Nicks Alliance Youth and Education operates a comprehensive network of youth services for 2-24 year olds across North Brooklyn. More than 7,000 youth benefit from our early childhood center, 25 afterschool and community centers, 3 community schools, Summer Youth Employment and much more.

    Located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, St. Nicks Alliance is currently seeking an experienced, Deputy Director of Youth and Education.

    What You’ll Do:

    St. Nicks Alliance’s Deputy Director of Youth and Education provides strategic leadership for two key areas: Teen Portfolio and Cross Department Initiatives. portfolio which includes a community school, Beacon Community Center, Compass High, AIDP, Learning to Work, SYEP/WLG, and AmeriCorps. They employ SNA’s Career GPS Model which empowers young people to graduate high school and prepare for college or workforce.

    In addition, the Deputy Director drives targeted initiatives, including advocacy, talent development and inti. while assisting with fundraising. and Reporting to the Director of Youth and Education, the two fellow Deputy Directors and five Associate Directors to define and realize a unified vision, goals and outcomes for Youth and Education. , programmatic quality and data-driven outcomes

    Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Strategic Planning

    • Work in close partnership with leadership to define Y&E’s vision, goals, strategy and outcomes
    • Implement and continually strengthen SNA’s Transformational Practices
    • Lead the implementation and assessment of strategic initiatives for their portfolio
    • Lead the refinement and expansion of Career GPS Model
    • Serve as a strategic thought partner for the School Success Model
    • Serve as a strategic thought partner for Y&E Operations
    • Track and utilize data to drive decision-making and best practices

    Program Management and Assessment

    • Drive full compliance with all all public and private contracts (ie. DYCD, DOE, DOH)
    • Define goals and outcomes for each service area in their portfolio
    • Achieve high-quality implementation of SNA’s Career GPS Model for teens (PSR, SEL and Enrichment) and K-8 School Success Model (Interdisciplinary Thematic Units with literacy, arts learning, STEM, reading interventions and family literacy)
    • Uphold SNA’s deep commitment to youth development and socio-emotional learning.
    • Work collaboratively to support programmatic and operational cohesion
    • Oversee the collection, analysis and reporting of program performance data
    • Foster, strengthen and sustain collaborative relationships with all strategic partners
    • Represent Y&E and SNA in internal and external events, task forces and committees

    Staff Development

    • Attract, develop, coach and retain high-performing staff
    • Foster high performance of two Associate Directors and 12+ program directors through clear goals/expectations, effective supervision, and performance reviews
    • Model effective leadership
    • Create a positive culture with high morale, mutual support and accountability
    • Analyze the professional development needs of individual staff and design staff development and advancement opportunities

    Finance and Operations

    • Implement all operations policies and procedures accurately and equitably
    • Provide high-level budget development and management in coordination with Deputy Director, Operations, Associate Directors and Site Directors
    • Manage diverse funding streams (OCFS, DYCD, NYCPS and NYC Council)
    • Help create strong proposals, reports and presentations to support resource development

    Core Competencies

    • Employ core competencies such as Leadership, Strategic Planning, Relationship Building, Communication and Numeracy, through:
    • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills with ability to set and achieve goals, hold staff and oneself accountable, and provide constructive feedback/coaching
    • Ability to manage complex contracts and budgets
    • Expertise with workforce development and afterschool
    • Ability to build and sustain strong collaboration, partnerships and relationships
    • Ability to be visionary, set priorities, establish goals and drive to results

    What We Are Looking For:

    • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and equivalent experience in related field
    • At least 10 years of proven and progressive leadership experience in youth services
    • Visionary and motivational leader with desire to grow professionally
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • A collaborative approach with a dedication to encouraging an inclusive environment

    What's In It For You:

    • Compensation Range: $125,000-135,000 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors (ie. work experience, education, and skill level)
