Weatherization Crew Leader

Energy Savers Network is seeking a part-time Weatherization Crew Leader (20-30 hrs/wk) to assist our Project Manager in providing hands-on energy-efficiency upgrades to limited income households in Buncombe and surrounding counties. Our goals are for this position to move to full-time to fulfill client/volunteer outreach roles as well as assist in data entry.

We believe that everyone deserves access to comfortable, affordable, and energy-efficient homes. We provide weatherization services, energy audits, and client advocacy to help our community reduce energy consumption and save money.

The position’s duties include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing energy-efficiency upgrade measures to Client’s homes (training and direction will be provided by Team Leader)
• Following Team Leader’s guidance on-site
• Help Team Leader in guiding Volunteers in implementing energy-saving measures
• Gathering all tools and unused materials at the end of each day’s job, and packing in van
• Maintaining organization of tools and materials in job van

The ideal candidate will also:

• Maintain a desire to make daily positive contributions to our Client’s lives and to the planet through increasing energy-efficiency, personal empowerment and social justice
• Be familiar with the safe use of basic tools and materials needed, and ESN standards for implementing energy-efficiency measures
• Be dependable and responsible, recognizing your important position within the Team
• Be courteous, polite, and non-judgemental towards Client’s and Team
• Be suitably presentable as the public face of ESN
• Be self-motivated, efficient, neat and thorough in implementing measures once the day’s tasks have been outlined by Team Leader
• Provide their own transportation to the job sites
• Have good communication skills.
• Be able to physically perform all workday measures (from our training manual) for atleast 8 hrs. For example, carrying 20-30 lbs tools, walk stairs, get up and down frequently.

Major Plus if:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Willing to advance responsibility to management of jobs over time
• Willing to learn building science
