    Descrição

    Position Overview

In a moment when immigrant communities are facing heightened enforcement and political attacks — and when organizing, legal defense, cultural resistance, and mutual aid are more vital than ever — the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) is seeking a creative and strategic Grants Manager to help resource this growing movement.

This is an opportunity to help empower immigrant worker leadership across 70+ member organizations, sustain national campaigns like Adopt-a-Corner and the Immigrant Defense Fund, support disaster recovery brigades and worker protections, and uplift the arts and culture that animate our organizing.

Working collaboratively within the Development Department, the Grants Manager will steward and grow NDLON’s portfolio of institutional funders. This role will strengthen grant strategy, sharpen how we tell our story to foundations and institutional partners, and help ensure that our reporting reflects both measurable impact and movement-building transformation.

Salary placement is commensurate with experience. NDLON offers a competitive and values-aligned benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; an employer-contributed IRA plan; and generous paid time off. The Grants Manager reports directly to the Director of Development and joins a team that understands fundraising as an extension of organizing — grounded in strategy, relationship, and shared vision.

    Specific Responsibilities

    Foundation & Institutional Relations

    • Manage and expand a portfolio of institutional funders supporting immigrant worker organizing, legal defense, cultural strategy, and disaster recovery efforts
    • Develop grant strategies aligned with organizational priorities and campaign timelines
    • Partner with program leaders to draft compelling proposals, letters of inquiry, budgets, and reports
    • Maintain strong funder relationships through timely updates, briefings, site visits, and proactive communication
    • Track deliverables, grant requirements, and reporting deadlines to ensure compliance and excellence

    Grant Strategy & Storytelling

    • Translate programmatic outcomes and worker leadership into persuasive narratives that resonate with philanthropic audiences
    • Gather and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate impact
    • Identify new funding opportunities and trends within philanthropic sectors aligned with NDLON’s mission
    • Contribute to strengthening institutional messaging across proposals and reports

    Data Management & Fundraising Operations

    • Maintain and improve grant tracking systems, calendars, and workflow tools
    • Monitor and analyze institutional giving trends to inform long-term strategy
    • Collaborate across departments to ensure grant deliverables align with organizational goals and timelines

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and/or 2–4 years of experience in grant writing, foundation relations, or institutional fundraising
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
    • Knowledge of and commitment to immigrant and workers’ rights
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience developing grant budgets and working across teams
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
