About Technovation
Technovation is a global nonprofit that has spent 20 years building the world's largest technology entrepreneurship program for girls, reaching 300,000+ participants across 100+ countries. 76% of our alumnae go on to pursue STEM degrees. Following the integration of Google's Women Techmakers community, we now steward one of the largest ecosystems of women in technology on the planet.
We are at the start of a strategic evolution: building the systems that turn this community into a thriving learning, growth and support network that helps each individual grow and thrive.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an ambitious, courageous community catalyst and leader. Someone who can take a 300,000-person global community that currently operates as a seasonal volunteer program and co-design systems that turn it into something more durable: a community where members gain real connections, skills, mentorship and a sense of purpose that improves their overall well-being; where members keep coming back for the value, resources and strength of connection.
The community this role serves spans young women in college, mid-career software engineers, alumna founders raising their first round, and some senior executives. They all need different things. Part of the job is figuring out who to build for and to design a system that serves all of them.
What You’ll be Building
A community model organized around real value. We want every adult community member, spanning mentors, alumnae, WTM members, and more, to gain tangible things from being part of Technovation across three dimensions:
- Resources: New skills, mentorship, and connections that help with career growth.
- Agency: Confidence, voice, and influence through leadership opportunities, visibility, and participation in the broader technology economy.
- Achievements: Measurable improvements in education, career advancement, and well-being, outcomes that prove the community is working.
In the first year, we hope to accomplish the following:
- Steady growth and depth of engagement amongst the community members
- Provide our community with meaningful access to senior leaders, mentorship, and expertise through our corporate partners, our board, and the wider industry.
- Design and implement a progression pathway: alumna → mentor → working professional → community contributor. Define what value we need to provide at each stage and track conversion.
- Inform the design of a new platform that includes community connection, resources, and opportunity matching.
Responsibilities
- Community Infrastructure. Design the systems and processes that move us from a seasonal program into a thriving community. Define what "value" means for each community segment and build the connections that deliver it.
- Relationship Building and Partner Activation. This is a relationship-driven role. Proactively identify, connect with, and build relationships with the people and organizations that can open doors for our community, including corporate partners, industry leaders, potential mentors, alumni networks, and others whose involvement could create real value for our members.
- Mentor & Volunteer Model. Redesign how we engage, retain, and develop our 10,000+ annual volunteers - moving from episodic participation toward lasting community membership with real professional value.
- Partnership Activation. Work with corporate and industry partners to surface real opportunities for community members - training, mentorship, visibility.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. Work closely with fundraising, marketing, programs, and product teams. Community value should amplify every part of the organization.
- External Voice. Represent Technovation as a voice for what happens when communities of underrepresented women gain real economic power. Comfortable writing, speaking, and building public visibility for the work.
- Data & Systems. Own the community data infrastructure working toward clean, reliable records that power insights, personalization, and economic matching. Build the foundation to track not just participation, but how membership changes what people have access to, what they're able to do, and what they're achieving.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and develop the community team, ensuring they have the skills and support to serve a growing global network.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in community building, ecosystem development, platform operations, or network-driven organizations. At least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Energized by cold outreach and great at building relationships. Experience converting relationships into partnerships that deliver meaningful opportunities to community members, such as mentorship, training, visibility, and career access.
- Experience building or significantly scaling a community or network that produced measurable long-term outcomes for its members.
- Experience with community data systems (CRM, databases, community platforms) and ability to design systems that track real outcomes, not just activity.
- Strong writing, communication, presentation and public speaking skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with AI tools and experience actively integrating them into workflows.
- Comfortable building in ambiguity
A strong plus:
- Experience building or operating a marketplace, talent network, or platform where members earn, hire, or transact through the platform.
- Experience working across Africa, South Asia, or Latin America.
- Familiarity with wellbeing frameworks, capabilities approaches, or economic empowerment models.
