    Who we are:

    The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen feeds the hungry and offers programs and services to encourage self-sufficiency and improve quality of life for people in the Greater Trenton Area. We began serving meals 43 years ago in a church basement and have since expanded to deliver over 12,000 meals each week, six days per week, at our main Escher Street building and more than 50 community meal sites across the area. Since 1982, we have never turned away anyone who has asked us for a meal. Today, we also provide case management services, job search assistance and creative arts classes, empowering those we serve to thrive, not just survive.

    The Opportunity:

    The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) is seeking a Workforce Strategy Manager to support the development and continuous improvement of workforce readiness programming within the Education & Employment Program. This role focuses on designing and refining curriculum, strengthening program models, and using data and employer insights to improve participant outcomes. The Manager will collaborate with key staff, community partners, and employers to ensure programs remain responsive to labor market needs and create meaningful employment pathways for participants. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, mission-driven professional passionate about workforce development and adult learning. This is a full-time, salaried position.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support the development of employer partnerships that inform program design and create employment pathways for program participants.
    • Ability to design and scale workforce readiness programs aligned with labor market needs and organizational goals.
    • Expertise in developing standardized, competency-based curricula and training resources for adult learners.
    • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and andragogy with the ability to design accessible, inclusive, and culturally responsive programming for underserved populations.
    • Proven ability to create high-quality training materials, toolkits, and learning modules for both participants and staff.
    • Experience equipping instructional staff with training tools, guidance, and coaching to ensure consistent and effective program delivery.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams, community partners, and employers to inform and strengthen workforce initiatives.
    • Skilled in using program data, feedback, and outcomes to refine curriculum and improve program effectiveness.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, timelines, and priorities

    Necessary Skills and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated success in cultivating partnerships with employers to support workforce initiatives
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Adaptability in fast-paced, changing environments
    • Strong attention to detail and active listening skills
    • Knowledge of MS Office, Google Workspace, virtual platforms, and basic smartphone applications
    • Knowledge of career pathways and hospitality-based training models
    • Understanding of target learner populations and their needs
    • Familiarity with learning technologies and CRM systems (e.g., LMS, e-learning tools)
    • Background in nonprofit, community-based, or social impact environments
    • Experience with U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) funded workforce programs is preferred

    Required Credentials:

    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) or equivalent of 3 years or more relevant experience in case management, adult education or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in workforce development, adult education, training program design or nonprofit management

    Compensation: Salary Range - $62,000 - $69,000 annually

    Compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
