    POSITION: The Grants Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Development Director and Executive Director and be responsible for researching, applying for and managing grant funding opportunities for the organization and generating ideas for fundraising activities to advance CfJJ’s advocacy agenda and community presence. Duties will include:

    • Working with the Development Director to understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and current initiatives and financial needs of the organization.
    • Researching and identifying potential funding sources and opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.
    • Writing compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and necessary supporting documents.
    • Ensuring timely and accurate submission of applications to funders and tracking those grant applications, their deadlines and follow-up actions
    • Preparing and submitting required reports to funders and tracking grant progress and requirements
    • Maintain positive relationships with funders and their representatives and other key stakeholders
    • Collaborating with the Development Director to engage the Development Committee of the Board of Directors on fundraising efforts, including CfJJ fundraising events
    • Assist the Development Director and Executive Director in evaluating the success of grant-funded projects.
    • Assisting the Development Director with resolving any issues or challenges that arise during CfJJ development campaigns

    QUALIFICATIONS: Strong candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in grant writing, grant management, and project and/or program management and coordination or a master’s degree and demonstrate an interest in social justice and public policy work. This position requires excellent research and communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal communication. The ideal candidate will have many or all of the following attributes:

    • Commitment to youth justice, racial equity, LGBTQ and disability rights in line with CfJJ’s work and mission
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Salesforce
    • Experience with grant-writing and reporting, fundraising appeals, or other aspects of non-profit fundraising
    • Project management and coordination experience
    • Demonstrated organizational abilities to regularly report, communicate, document and track information.
    • Demonstrated initiative in approaching job duties and projects
    • Capacity to pay close attention to detail while juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
    • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team setting
    • Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent writing skills

    This is a full-time position (40 hours/week), with occasional early morning and early evening meetings (one or two per month). CfJJ is a hybrid workplace with flexibility as to office hours.
